Heaven by King Missile

It's so beautiful here
The swallows are swinging and swaying
Sweetly tweeting in the fruit trees
Sparrows hip hop into my hands
And somehow I hold them
And gently pet their wings
Why is this happening here, now?
I was in tears yesterday
Tattered and near lifeless
Have I died and passed into the afterworld?
I must have
This is heaven
How did I get here?
Let me retrace my steps
What happened yesterday?
I was in tears yesterday, near lifeless
Something sad must've happened, but what?
What was I crying about?
Is it over?
Is it okay now?
Who am I talking to?
What's going on?
Oh no!
Now the sparrow is broken and mangled in my bl00dy hands
This is so awful
Giant flying insects are crawling all over me,
Biting and laughing
This is even worse than being alive
This is worse than being alive
Even worse than being alive
I hate this

Dry River by Dave Alvin

I was born by a river, but it was paved with cement
Yeah I was born by a river, but it was paved with cement
Still I stand out in that old dry river, and wish that I was soaking wet

Someday it's gonna rain, someday it's gonna pour
Someday this old dry river, it well, won't be dry anymore

I played in the orange groves, 'til they bulldozed the trees
I played in the orange groves, 'til they bulldozed down all the trees
Now I stand out in those dead stumps, and I smell the blossoms on the leaves

Someday it's gonna rain, someday it's gonna pour
Someday those old dead trees, won't be dead anymore

I fell in love with a woman, but she did not love me
Well, I fell in love with you baby, but you did not love me
Now I'm as dry as that old river, and I'm as dead as those old trees

Someday it's gonna rain, someday it's gonna pour
Someday this old heart of mine's gonna fall in love once more

Someday it's gonna rain, someday it's gonna pour
Someday this old dry river, it won't be dry anymore

Well mine is 'Don't Cry Alone' by Robin Gibb. He produced it while he was dying with cancer and sang it as part of the Titanic Requiem he produced with his Son, RJ.

Best Wishes

"Waterloo" ~ Stonewall Jackson.

Waterloo...Waterloo,

Where will you meet your Waterloo

Every puppy has his day,

Everybody has to pay,

Everybody has to meet his Waterloo.

I finally met my Waterloo.

Right now....and I actually hate this song....Let Her Go by Passenger.

Oh, and for some others in my life, I Don't Care Anymore, by Phil Collins. I put that sh** on blast for them!

Passenger - Let Her Go

Oddly enough it was playing on the radio while driving home from a business trip the day before my girlfriend and I broke up.

The lyrics stuck with me.

Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
But dreams come slow and they go so fast

You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies

Staring at the ceiling in the dark

Same old empty feeling in your heart
'Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast

Well you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
'Cause you loved her too much
And you dived too deep

Better luck next time :-/

Me for the last twelve years it’s this song below “The search is over” from Survivor. this song fit my situation to a T.

This song is for my partner Dan who knows me, loves me and support me more than 100%, he won’t give up on me even if i’m giving up sometime on myself. I’m blessed to have found such a great man, that understand my emotions and is willing to deal with it and also the best part of it all, to share my life with.

P.S. I gave myself the permission to change two words in the song, girl to guy and men to women.

How can I convince you what you see is real
Who am I to blame you for doubting what you feel
I was always reachin', you were just a guy I knew
I took for granted the friend I have in you

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Now I look into your eyes, I can see forever
The search is over, you were with me all the while

Can we last forever, will we fall apart
At times it's so confusing, the questions of the heart
You followed me through changes and patiently you'd wait
Till I came to my senses through some miracle of fate

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Now I look into your eyes, I can see forever
The search is over, you were with me all the while

Now the miles stretch out behind me, love's that I have lost
Broken hearts lie victims of the game
Then good luck it finally struck like lightning from the blue
Every highway is leading me back to you

Now at last I hold you, now all is said and done
The search has come full circle, our destinies are one
So if you ever loved me, show me that you give a damn
You'll know for certain the women I really am

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment
Taking on the world, that was just my style
Then I touched your hand, I could hear you whisper
The search is over, love was right before my eyes

Ugh, I shudder at the though, being as how I am not a fan of contemporary pop country in the least...

But Jason Aldean's Dirt Road Anthem really does is for me when I'm feeling a mix of down and nostalgic.

Yeah I'm chillin on a dirt road
Laid back swervin like I'm George Jones
Smoke rollin' out the window,
An ice cold alcohol sittin' in the console
Memory lane up in the headlights
It's got me reminiscing on them good times
I'm turning off the real life drive and that's right
I'm hittin' easy street on mud tires

Haha I've grown into a hipster liberal with a bleeding heart, but sometimes I wish I could hop in my old blue Mustang, pick up a few pals on a summer night, and go cruising down the backroads in my old home town. And this song has a way of bring that feeling to me like no other.

Isn't it amazing how music just...nails it sometimes?

For me, right now, it's Forbidden Games. Great version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYAxrtV-dxc

Though it's forbidden for my arms to hold you

And though it's forbidden, my tears must have told you

That I hold you secretly, each time we meet

In these forbidden games that I play

Though it's forbidden in dim quiet places

To capture the rainbows my aching heart chases

My bittersweet ecstasies come to me here

In these forbidden games that I play

Everyone knows you belong to another

Spinning your magic for her and no other

Still I've been content to be part of this fantasy

Part of this game that I play

Though it's forbidden, and you'll love me never

I'll keep my love hidden, and love you forever

Through countless eternities, you will be mine

in these forbidden games that I play

(Repeat)

When you're down on your luck and you just can't cope
When the times are bleak And the friends are few
Don't turn to me 'cause I'm no hope
Don't turn to me 'cause I don't know what to do
Maybe you should have a drink I don't know why you ever stopped anyway

Oh, it's rough Baby, to live Oh, it's hard Baby, to survive
Everyday lately My mind feels like glass
Ready to be smashed
Ready to be smashed
Oh well, my best friend Took a bullet through his eye
First he had a patch Now he's got a glass eye One hard, glass eye
He says sometimes he wishes Both his eyes were glass
Well, it's rough Baby, to live And it's hard Baby, to survive
Everyday lately My mind feels like glass
Ready to be smashed
I'm ready to be smashed
At times I lock myself up In my room
Don't come over While I listen to a record I stare at the cover
Don't come over Don't come over 'cause I'm no hope to you
I'm no hope to you..
