LonelyHiker 5,029 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) Confirmed my store transfer and that I am in fact getting a raise (not sure how much yet, but it will be more than the standard yearly COL increase). Jan 19 is my first day at the new location - looking forward to being able to walk to work, come home for lunch, etc! Also got a much-needed haircut... IHaveNoName 127 Posted January 5, 2015 I did a ton of reading (somewhat productive) and carved the heck out of a log, which is now an oval and one day will grow into a box. 10 SFChristianGirl, ReggieSherman, TiffanyC and 7 others reacted to this

And it is a much nicer store, with a manager who isn't a nitwit, lol..ETA: more money doesn't suck either! UeSchita 118 Posted January 6, 2015 I managed to wash the clothes and take a shower. Tomorrow, I will go shopping and go to the library. I might even manage to sweep the floors today or tomorrow! I don't really like going out until I get there, but once in the car, it's fine... When I get where I'm going, I see all the other people who are worse off than me (I live in a retirement town, basically), and I feel a lot better about myself. It helps -- but just getting the energy to get up and go is often hard. (It's so easy to say "Aw hell with it, I'll do it tomorrow.") 7 duck, lostingreece, Dolphin2013 and 4 others reacted to this
vega57 1,750 Posted January 6, 2015 Replaced a door casing for a needy family, built a prototype desk I'm hoping to sell at our local college outdoor market. I'll try almost anything at least once. Lol. Well almost anything. Lol. 8 Dolphin2013, trilher, LonelyHiker and 5 others reacted to this
GAJ123 1,257 Posted January 6, 2015 Went out to eat with my parents. Got a little triggered of course when I seen couples together since I'm all alone. Nothing too bad, compared to the last time. Still sucks knowing I'm likely going to be alone for quite a long while yet. 6 SFChristianGirl, duck, Epictetus and 3 others reacted to this

Poetgurl 7 Posted January 6, 2015 After staring at it for two hours piled on my lap, I finally folded a load of laundry and made dinner for my family. Considering the thought of getting out if bed this morning made me cry, I think I did well. 7 SFChristianGirl, LonelyHiker, duck and 4 others reacted to this
Epictetus 17,451 Posted January 6, 2015 I resisting giving in to a request that would have led to worsened anxiety and depression if I had agreed to it. I smoke when I am nervous, and I know I will be nervous tomorrow for my interview. But I am resolved to kick this nasty habit. lostinwords 248 Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) I FINISHED KNITTING MY GAWDDAY'UM SOCKS. ^______^ It only took 4 months (instead of 2-3 weeks like normal). They turned out super purty. The yarn is a myriad of blues, because the yarn is hand-dyed merino/llama wool. And it has mini-cables in it. I hope my grammie likes her new socks.
