The long Covid situation and perilous financial times (especially inflation) are making people nervous and short tempered. I try to keep that in mind when I'm out and give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm not always successful but most of the time it goes well. I think…at least around my area that people are affected by the weather (I know I am) and it has been a terrible spring so far following a terrible winter. I always cringe when the sports teams don’t do well either because that also has a rather large impact…especially the football team…on the morale.
sober4life
I agree. Friday Night Lights that's this place. It's been this place for as long as I can remember. The weather here is crap all year in one way or another too. What do we have to look forward to here? Bedtime.
monicott17
I am really, really struggling today. Mondays are usually rough but today is absolutely brutal. I feel more sad and anxious than usual and there is not a specific reason why. Could be a combo of the many issues I am having right now.
Nightjar
Bit of a funny one for me today. I wanted to chill all day again but didn't. I was a bit nervous that it might make me anxious to stay in too long so I ventured out for a little bit. I'm hoping for a repeat of yesterday's sleep pattern Nite family
anon22ae
Trying to finish taxes. When I was poor and in school, I got refunds. When I'm poor and working, I owe. This must be taxation without representation or something. No matter what, the government will get its pound of flesh at your expense.
sober4life
Yeah even if I hide here they will eventually get everything I have. They're letting me borrow it when I'm here and then it's all theres once I'm gone. Edited April 11 by sober4life

Morning duck I found a property online yesterday and when I called about it, they asked me to come up today Cray cray speediness going on. Anyway, I like this one a lot, though its on a road Not a highway, but a thoroughfare nonetheless.... Quite busy. It's further away from the highway and the other road with the frequent lorries than the last one however and is a cute, cute cottage. Very low maintenance inside which is nice. I do like where it is. My only concern is noise from the road. Will it disturb my sleep? It's not a city or night time place though, which is good. And if it all fails I'll only be in the position I'm in now. Stuck at mom's. I can maybe rent it out if I can't cope with the noise (I have a noise phobia after my experience at my last house, though that was internal noise). Any comments appreciated. I can't discuss with family, they push my buttons too much I'll have to offer above asking to get it, but I can with this as its smaller. Don't let your mind talk you out of this. Your mind is saying well sure I'm in hell right now but I know how to survive this hell. You're terrifed of this change because who knows what will happen once you buy a new house. I'll be honest I'm terrified every day on my own. It's scary but I feel free at the same time. I have become independent which I thought would never happen. You can get where I'm at. No house will be perfect but I hope you'll have a feeling when you look at the place like it's the place for me. This place I had to make it my place. We moved here because we couldn't stay in the old house with the old memories one day more. Whatever came next had to be better. I remember a time when dad was the only choice I had left and I walked out knowing I would be sleeping in the car that night and I was fine with it. I never lived with him again. I know what you're going through and I really do think you will be better off when you get out of there no matter what happens.
Nightjar
Thanks @sober4life. I will think all of that through. I'm nearly there, I've stopped for a quick break from driving. You're a good friend. monicott17
Today was a slight improvement…got a bit more done and even helped out some co-workers with some info they needed. Still not doing great though…so much frustration!

Effectively the government is robbing us, no need for a robber, they just call it the law.
Extremebeginner
@Nightjar go for it, you will get used to traffic noise if there is any. Its different to being disturbed by someone causing a disturbance, noise, music, doors slamming etc. traffic noise just blends in. sounds a thousand times better than having to deal with a narcissist for more than a split second, family or not!

I may need to move in short order and I'm wondering what I'd be getting myself into... all the hassles, trials, tribulations, etc., from paperwork to payment to maintenance to that very first day sleeping there. Long story, but there might be very little notice and I might have to jump on the first place that seems reasonable (preferring rural or country with maybe a couple acres). Any advice much appreciated, especially the things they don't tell you...

Thanks Extremebeginner. It does sound a thousand times better.... That's why I'm exploring all options... When I looked at the bedroom, the window was jammed shut and single glazed and the traffic very loud... Also, the stairs were so steep I was nervy on them and there was some sort of milk depot (early morning lorries) across the street Several nearby properties were for sale which was a concern also. I think I can l do better I gotta be honest, I was pretty down after yesterday. Its proving difficult to find anything and my house sale is still delayed. I could really do with some good news in all this. Edited April 13 by Nightjar

I also know how important it is to get away from a narcissist, so ensure you can manage that situation with finding the right place. Could you rent a place for a month or is that a waste of budgeted money

I'd love to rent but you have to rent for at least 6 months, more commonly, a year... It would eat massively into my budget. Rent is extortionate here It would have to be a very last resort.

I don't want to tell you any bad things about living in a place like this because I don't want to talk you out of it. There's bad things about every house but I believe you would love to live in a place like this. Edited April 13 by sober4life
