I believe it.  Most animals are creatures of habit for sure.  Take the deer here for instance.  Once I learned their routines I could time my walks so I could see them every day.

True, and I've seen the same thing even with pet fish.  The bears decided not to stop by on Halloween night.  It might be because one of the neighbors had a big haunted house setup in their garage with music, lights, and all the works.  Might have kept the bears away.  Might have kept the kids away too because I didn't see a single trick or treater 😄

Me neither, not a tricker treater in the mobile home park.  And I bought a big bag of mini Muskateers, Twix, Snickers, and Milky Way.  Dang, did the same last year.

An evening of tense uncertainty for me and many or most in the States. Wednesday more of the same. I hate sitting with the uncertainty of this race. Though years of struggling with anxiety disorder has taught me a thing or two about how to cope with uncertainty to prevent an escalation into a panic attack. Well...so far.

Maybe I should eat a benzo. Nah. Wait until tomorrow.

I'm new to this.  Thank god I haven't wasted my whole life with politics but it looks like to me by looking at the entire government picture that no matter who wins as president whatever they want to do one of the houses will say nope so it looks like 4 years of nothing.  Which is the last thing we need right now.

A stimulus check would be perfect right now.

It's hard to figure out what these people will do in government.  Sadly giving us these checks have to benefit those people in charge that have to make these calls.  Looking at the whole picture they should give us checks.  It benefits them to do so in my opinion.  It's the right move but who knows.🤷‍♀️

King Trump, as he believes he is, has no intention of leaving office. Every state that he loses in he is bad mouthing, especially PA. Yapping away mass corruption and blah, blah, blah.... Funny how he had no problem with the voting/ballot system in 2016. 🙃

I want 1 new law in place immediately after the election is declared. The president, vice-president, congress and senate, are NOT allowed to have Twitter accounts or any other social media account where they talk about the state of the nation in any manner whatsoever, period! You don't run the country via Twitter!

The election is over.  Everyone knows it.  I don't believe the courts will want any part of this anymore.  Yesterday the fight still made sense.  There was hope but today it's too much of a mountain to climb.  The last part yes we need to go back to only hearing from leaders the old way basically with rare prepared speech tv appearances.

The unfinished states are all snake bit, I bet.  I would be.  Nevada's deciders maybe have decided that their state shouldn't be first.

So my idea for the future would be install those nifty casino cameras in the counting rooms.  Keep them unobtrusive.  They can zoom right down to a hand of cards, so since I don't know what I'm talking about, maybe they could be programmed to check signatures, post marks.  They could be viewed and reviewed until eyes glazed over.

Perhaps because there are still some moments that are worth living.

I am not convinced this is true, at least not in my case. Its not that I don't experience "good" stuff too.

It's more like nothing means anything to me. Not even the "bad" stuff.

I am alive, I am writing this crap now. If I wasn't alive, I wouldn't be writing this crap now.

You see, I don't see any significant difference. I have said this before elsewhere on DF: ultimately it doesn't really matter if one is alive or dead. I don't believe in God, in fact I don't really believe in anything. I don't see value in anything.

Yes, there might be a few people in my immediate vicinity who would suffer by my demise, but in 40 years or so, no one will remember I have ever walked on this planet. It is as if we weren't here in the first place. And taking the risk of sounding callous, neither do anyone's feelings(mine included) or lives really matter from a cosmic point of view.

Beauty, good, evil, meaning/lessness.. All of that is in the eye of the beholder. Our moral judgements are at least in part the result of social conditioning and also subscribing to socio-cultural convention.

Some people are perhaps able to give life meaning for themselves, but some will never be able to do that.

How does this all add up though? How does this relate to

I keep asking myself, why should I think life is worth living?

I just don't think life should go on at any cost. I don't think life is sacred or something to be cherished.

I don't like humanity. I don't like myself. I see humanity as the sole problem this planet has. Nothing will ever change so why even bother anymore. And besides, I don't even know how anything should change.

If you want out, you should just be able to do so.. But social convention aside, sadly our genes are programmed to continue life at any cost.

There lies the tragedy of life.

Cowardice. I would have been gone a long time ago if I had the guts.

Maybe when the virus is gone go back to voting in person for everyone.  There should always be some type of way to go to a government office of some type that has a camera and records.  Vote there.  Of course I don't trust the mail.  Maybe it's better in the city but here in the country the man that delivers the mail is an alcoholic that sometimes blows off Friday and Saturday and delivers the mail on Sunday if he feels like it.  Who knows what other places are like.

Trump will go after PA and GA as they hold the win for Biden. AZ and NV are nice to have, but the other 2 he needs 1 win and Trump needs both. That will be in legal circles. I'm hoping state court settles it quick after a recount and the supreme court says no way, not touching it...

No need for cameras in the future. They had them in the ballot counting area in all the major cities at minimum. Along with a dem and rep person involved in every questionable ballot. So it's all recorded. Most states had live feeds so you can see for yourself. The big cities all got covered on the news. They already knew this would be a pissing contest before it ever started. Given Covid issues no one is going to mandate in person voting. Not to mention there are many people who for other health reasons, military assignments, etc can't go in person. They still have a right to vote.

There really is no way to make it perfect is there?  The people not able to show up even a website isn't good enough because not everyone has internet and if they could get to a website how do we really know it's them and on and on and on.  There is no perfect way.  After this awfull year the last thing people need is to go through weeks of this.  I don't know what the answer is but surely they can come up with a way to get us to the winner of an election by the end of the week right?

I understand what you are saying, and it does seem reasonable to wrap it up in four days.  However, if there is any doubt, get it right -- accuracy over speed.
