I attended a depression support group meeting. I went to visit my mom and together we cooked 3 lbs of chicken breasts with 3 sauces - tomato, paprikash and mole.

I predict I'll be eating a lot of chicken in September.

It sounds good.  I never heard of paprikash and mole so I had to google that.  A mole around here sure isn't something I want to eat but after searching it does look good.

From what I can decipher from my Fitbit I woke up just before 4am ugh. Not tired and haven’t slept a healthy amount in a few days. Things are getting done, but I am fighting to pace myself and not chase a high.

🤣 Truth! Eating a mole might be kinda unpleasant but mole (mole-lay) poblano is a rich and delicious sauce, also sorta spicy. It's too laborious to make from scratch but it can store bought or found in Mexican restaurants and I highly recommend it.

Paprikash is Hungarian, not spicy, easy to cook and delicious over noodles.

All of it is going in bags and containers and shoved in my freezer for easy meals all month.

So far I joined this fourm and now posting some things on here a bit. Also deciding on what movie to watch right now.

I painted my porch bench.  It's more of making the outside look good so people don't know the nuthouse it is inside.

Did a variety of chores around the house and got the guest room ready.  Tomorrow my dad and I will be going to the airport to pick up my brother...it's like over an hour's drive so that'll be tiring of course haha.  I don't care though I'm in a good mood and can't wait for him to get here 🙂

Walked 4 miles. Attended the Saturday support group for depression and the coffee social afterwards. I'm making some new acquaintances, possibly new friends with some of the group members everyone seems pretty cool. Still a part of me worries, wonders if there's drama hidden beneath the kindness and support I've witnessed and receivied. That is likely my brain trying to protect me from the uncertainty, the potential for hurt that can come from being disappointed in people.

My bestie said he wanted to pop into the Apple store to get his phone fixed. It would be only 25 minutes, he said. He and his phone are inseparable and he's been worried about it "being sick". His beloved phone is the closest thing he'll ever have to a child and he couldn't manage the anxiety all by himself. So I obliged.

We ended up being there for 3 hours while he bought a new phone, accessories and transferred data. Throughout the exhausting ordeal, Apple store helpers who noticed me would ask what I was here for.

"Oh I'm his emotional support animal", I replied.

He did buy my dinner so...

Took my husband to work at the mall, so that he could buy me a pumpkin latte at Dunkin' which I had to then pretend to enjoy. Then he went off to work and I hung out until JC Penney's opened. There, I went into their Sephora and pretended to look around for 15 minutes when I just wanted my free birthday gift. 😆 When I finally had the nerve to get to the register and get it, the sales lady pointed me to some sales bins where I picked out a pretty eyeshadow for $4. I got that and my gift too, and also inquired about makeovers so she gave me her card (I might take her up on it for the Aladdin musical).

Then I went to the salon to see if I could change my appointment, and although I couldn't, I noticed the receptionist's pretty lip color and she took me to the back to show me the name of it off of the package in her purse. Instead of buying it at the Sephora though, I went to my husband's store and had him look it up there. So now I have it coming with his discount.

Got home, my space was still there, and the dog was ecstatic to see me after a couple hours. So I took her to the hot as hell park for just long enough to do her business and for me to start to sweat profusely, then we headed back. Good thing because my front door wasn't closed due to the chain in the way. But now I can sit under the fan then put the chicken in the slow cooker and relax until my husband gets home in the evening.

Went out with my mom and brother to Michaels, Spirit and Target to do some Halloween shopping.  I bought some more of those craft pumpkins in various sizes, a few skulls and skeletons, some orange candy corn lights, and a bag of autumn leaves.  At Target I found a really funny looking spider skeleton decoration with a head that I think is supposed to look like a human skull...but actually looks kinda funny and cute because of the way the eyes were painted.  I had to have it of course so I bought it and it's now sitting on the coffee table.  A bit of a busy day for me but lots of fun.

Got up early and talked my husband into going to the nearby outdoor mall with me. We had breakfast at Panera (and I got a free birthday pastry 🙂), and then I got some Halloween and Fall decorations at Dollar Tree: a glow-in-the-dark skeleton, squirrel salt and pepper shakers, and pumpkin table mats. I was almost overwhelmed by how much stuff they had, so I'll probably go back for more in a couple weeks.

Next, we checked out the new Burlington, where I got a cute napkin holder. Then we hit Super Target for some groceries. And finally Ulta for my free birthday gift--some special lipstick--, but they were out so I got to choose between two items and I picked the clutch bag with fancy skincare stuff in it. Now I'm back home ready to take a nap since I've been up since before the sun!
