BennieEddie
What is the best way in trying to resolve conflict with a Dismissive Avoidant if they refuse to listen to you and they shut down? Especially if you told them you no longer want anything to do with them i.e no contact and no friendship. But you feel bad because they hurt you which is what resulted in you cutting contact with them. How can you reach out and try to make amends?
nojoy
I'm having the same problem. Give the person time is what I'm doing. I send an email once on a while just to say I'm thinking of you.
BeyondWeary
I think writing a hand written letter might help and writing using only “I” statements. That would hopefully not put them in a defensive place and they might be more open to hearing you, given time. BW
