Hpal
Hi everyone, i have been taking Trintellix 5mg for 12 days and have just increased to 10mg, I am getting very bad headaches and some increased anxiety. I am extremely sensitive to medication but my depression/anxiety is really bad and I’m finding it hard to function. Have any of you had success with this med? Is it worth persisting? I’m already a headache sufferer so not sure if I can tolerate anymore headaches!
ladysmurf
it's the latest SSRI...i would ask your doctor because it can take weeks/ months for the side effects to go away, but if they are REALLY bothersome you should ask your doctor. I've heard people having success with it. I didn't but good luck!
Hpal
Thanks ladysmurf. I just saw my doctor on Friday and he increased the dose. I’m going to give it a few more days to see if I adjust to it. Did you have bad side effects from it or did it just not work for you?
xvantaelicious
I think this medication is known by the name of Brintellix too. My experience with this medication is terrible (well that's my personal experience tho). I used to take it in liquid solution and it made me feel dizzy, nauseous and I used to throw up almost every day.

Extremebeginner
I’m just about to start Trintillex, so I’ll keep you posted. Hoping it works for me. I’m coming off Duloxetine. I have been on it for five years and I wanted to try something else, before ECT or Ketamine
Extremebeginner
Day one complete, coming down from Cymbalta, started Trintillex at 5 mg. Day full off anxiety but this may be mainly due to the fear factor of not knowing if this will help or hurt. Physically nothing to report
Extremebeginner
Day 3 is a living hell, not because of side effects of Trintillex but because my depression has sunk to a new low. Can’t come quick enough for the Trintillex to start working.
Extremebeginner
Day 4. Still unable to do much, no motivation, but mood improved slightly from yesterday. I may have begun to stabilise on reduced duloxetine, starter Trintillex. I skipped a buspirone this morning as I figured it reduces anxiety and thus functional ability (my personal evaluation, not medical). I think it helped, and really think doctors should tell you this but…. Hopefully a start towards improved….tbc
Extremebeginner
Day 5, much the same as day 4. Anxiety in and out but depression still very painful
Extremebeginner
Day 14, this stuff still hasnt started to work, no side effects though. Now on 15 mg and wish I could feel some improvement. Another 7 days to go I guess, I’m hanging in there with my hospital bag ready, and crisis numbers laid out. I wish I tapered off the cymbalta over a longer period so maybe I would have not been this depressed
Extremebeginner
So I must have been on this a month now, after a brief period around 20 days when my old Duloxetine had given up on me and the Trintillex wasn't yet working, I am now on and stable at 20 mg. Does it work??? Its helping me against the worse feeling but I am a little numb and feeling like I really have no motivation. None. I will stabilise like this until I see my pdoc in a week, where I try reducing the dosage to 15mg, to see if that motivates me. My comment would be go slow on the taper off of your older med, as this works, for me, but slowly…

Extremebeginner
It is working with few side effects, just was slow to kick in. The only side effect I have noticed is occasional but not severe diarrhea. I would still like to try to reduce to 15 mg to minimise the diarrhea, but the doctor doesn't want to. Its not bad, I will survive on 20 mg
