Keeping my mind busy?

I still have a lot of bad intrusive thoughts. I've already come to believe it's part of the reason why I attract bad karma so often. I want to fix this issue because I hate having to struggle to push away such unpleasant thoughts. It triggers most when I'm doing a certain action- such as writing, reading, drawing, washing my hands etc. But even though I'm trying to improve without the help of therapy or a doctor, I need some starting points that I can gather

What do you do to keep your mind busy? Is there anything you can recommend for me to try out? Something I can do or take with me throughout the day?

Anything helps honestly. At this rate, I'm willing to take any advice or help I can get.

I wish I could help.

The fact is I suffer from intrusive thoughts too. Or perhaps my mind is just in overk ill 24/7.

Sometimes I think that is all I am. Emptiness shrouded in the enigma of intrusive thoughts. Behind all the banality, depravity and violence that is my mind there is a nothingness I mistake as my “essential self “.

Physical activity can help though, for some anyhow. 

Running, work out?  Or watching your favorite tv show? Sometimes getting out of the comfort zone can help.

Pets and animals in general can get one out of one’s head at times.

I hope you get rid of the intrusive thoughts. I know from experience how crappy it can be.

It helps me feel better knowing that I'm not alone. It's awful, isn't it? It makes you feel mentally stuck/trapped. God, it's tough enough trying not to think or stress over it so much.

I appreciate your suggestions. I'll look into some activities I can do to be more active- having worked out occasionally in the past, I know that was a great way to get things off my mind. I'll see if there's any new shows I can get into. As for pets/animals, there's always plenty of cats I can work with at the shelter I work at XD So luckily, I always have animals around me

I hope you do too. It feels like there's no escape. But remember you are not alone and we can make it through this :console:

Reading a good book can distract, as can good films...

I love online quizzes and tests, those are always fun! I gotta get back into the habit of that actually XD Same with reading
