Shows/movies that you hate

As a rule of thumb, I don't tend to enjoy television shows with a "laugh track" although it is not intolerable or anything.  I like reruns of "I Love Lucy" even though that situation comedy had a laugh track.   Just an odd trait of mine, I guess.

The laugh track is distracting for me. It's a shame, because I quite like some of those shows, like 'Get Smart'.

"Modern Family."  It's almost innocuous enough not to mention.  The show just barely misses on all cylinders.  The gay guys are a throwback to swishbuckling portrayals of yesterday.  Al Bundy has enough talent by himself for a comedy series, but his character is lifeless.  I think I dislike it because it has very good actors and potentially funny situations in place, and perpetually comes up empty.  There is a world of possibility between "Green Acres"/"I Love Lucy"--though Green Acres occupies a world of its own-- and smart, tongue-in-cheek comedy but the show never lands there.

Bulgakov

I agree on everything you said.  The actor that plays Al Bundy will be seen as Al Bundy forever.  It's a character that will live on forever that nobody will ever forget but it ruins your career playing a part like that because nobody will ever see you as anyone else again.

Any of those Lifetime or Hallmark "feel good" movies.

I know nobody in the history of earth has had a life like those movies.  Everyone wants a fairy tale romance like those movies but it doesn't exist in real life.

I hate movies where awkward men chase perfect women and then by the end of the movie she realizes how great a guy he is and falls in love with him. Yeah right... Not only completely unrealistic but it sends us guys the wrong message: don't accept a no and keep badgering her until she falls for you. Doesn't work that way in the real world, instead of falling in love she'll take out a restraining oder, lol

Yup, syrupy, saccharine, insipid rom-coms rooted in pure fantasy are the worst. Not to say that there aren't brilliant romantic  films out there. Shadowlands, for example, is one of the most beautiful films about love (and loss) ever made. Awakenings is also amazing.

Rom-coms, however, are crap imo..

I like soap operas though.  It shows love more accurately.  There is always something in the way trying to stop them from being happy together.  It's always a struggle to make things work and to stay together even for the strongest couples.

Criminal Minds. I don't understand why people think this is a good show.  They are acting out people being hurt and tortured. The people who created this show are the ones who are sick. Not the people they portray as bad in the movie. Lets get back to the feel good shows of the 90s

Criminal Minds can warp your mind like the news.  It can make you think the world is much worse than it is because all they do is focus on the negatives.  They will make you believe there is a monster hiding around every corner.

Okay, flame me now, but I'm gonna say it.....

Family Guy, South Park, American Dad, and cheesy shows like 7th Heaven

Family Guy & South Park have degenerated into 'anything flagrantly offensive', and American Dad never had any substance to begin with - All The Stereotypes.... and shows like 7th Heaven lead people to believe that Christians don't have problems - not serious ones, anyway - and if they do, they are easily solved with a little communication & prayer.  Yeah.  Christians are human too, and complex emotional and psychological problems do not have easy, 30 minute answers.

I don't really care for films and shows where the characters are cynical and sarcastic.  I used to enjoy them a lot, however, when I was younger.  Now they just wear me down.

Riverdale and jeopardy.

This stupid gritty YA take on the beloved archie comics is just... baffling and ridiculous. What freakin' audience are they going for?!

And jeopardy is just a stupid show. It amazes me how those people have all that useless knowledge. And I definitely dont hate it because it makes me feel stupid.

Warning, rant impending.....  🤬

Oh, and unpleasant sh*t mentioned....

Horrifying torture-porn movies like Human Centipede and Saw where people do absolutely horrific things to each other.... I really find it utterly disgusting that people get a kick out of it when similar sh*t happens in real life - like child s*x trafficking and female g*n*t*al mutilation for vomitous starters. 🤮 I want to vomit my innards up just thinking about the horror of what people go through, and here people are putting it up there for 'enjoyment'.  😡

Rant over, apologies. 😵

Finding Bigfoot is the biggest piece of crap ever!  Did you hear that noise and there is never a noise.  They are as ridiculous as Ancient Aliens!  Every noise must be bigfoot like every single thing that happened in history must have been caused by aliens according to all the people trying to sell their book on Ancient Aliens!

Shows that are consistently conclusively inconclusive piss me off.

Bigfoot probably was real but it isn't what we think it is.  It was probably just a reclusive man living in the mountains or woods with some condition that made him have hair all over his body.  As for the ancient aliens idea people probably aren't strong enough to get past the idea that show has.  The world would be total chaos if they found out that aliens have been visiting all along and kidnapping us and manipulating our DNA but as crazy as it sounds it doesn't make any less sense than the other ideas about why we are here.
