lostsoul65
Has anyone taken mirtazapine? I took 7.5mg. last night and it kept me awake half the night and made me nervous. Is this suppose to do that when you first start taking it? Should I keep taking it until I get use to it?
Tungsten Aromatics
Hi Lostsoul65 -- Usually when first starting Mirtazapine, it acts as a sedative. Have you been on a lower dose before the 7.5mg? I would advise speaking to your GP as the lowest dose is 15mg. Tungsten.
lostsoul65
Your right the lowest dose is 15mg but the first time I take a new med I always just take half a dose and thank god I did because if I would of taken the 15mg I would of been in real trouble and the nervousness and lack of sleep would have been greater. I wrote my Dr. about this and will see what happens but I'm not taken this med again.
Ambrer
I take 30mg nightly! It usually knocks me out cold! When you first start taking it, it does make you feel a little "shaky" for the first couple of weeks! I hope you feel better soon! Speaking to the doctor should help you! Just take it steady! LouisRiel
I was directed to start at 7.5 (half a tablet) and move up to 15, 27.5, and 30 if I needed it. I had bad side effects at 7.5, but they seemed to go away once I increased my dose.
Z Diggity Dog
I'm taking 45 MG each night.
Bud555
I stopped taking it. I couldn't stop eating, had a hard time getting out of bed, and it made my anxiety and depression much worse, suicidal thoughts especially.
