Movies You Like To Watch Over And Over Again...?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I admit it . . . I've seen the Matrix "way too many" times.  Ha ha.

During a "phase" of my youth I watched Star Wars:  the Empire Strikes Back over 50 times  [and before it was on TV  . . .  and before there were videos of movies].  Yikes.   Luckily I outgrew this "phase."  Ha ha.

The Lord of the Rings - all

The hobbit - all of them as well

Thats all I can think of right now, but I am sure there are more.

I used to watch the first "Karate Kid" movie over many times.  I don't know why it appealed to me.  I seem to be able to watch old "Twilight Zone" and old "I Love Lucy" shows over and over again.  And I don't know how many times I have seen "The Wizard of Oz."

Oh man I cant list them all, here's 10:

Alien, Aliens, Predator, Predator 2, Titanic, Dumb and Dumber, Full Metal Jacket, Starwars EP IV, V, VI, Driving Miss Daisy, Braveheart, Patriot, Terminator, Terminator II, Goldeneye...

OK, I lied that's more than 10, oh well, that's all that stands out on my mind for now, there are dozens more if not hundreds.

I didn't like the hobbit as much as Lord of the Rings.  With the Lord of the Rings all 3 movies were good.  With the hobbit it would have been better if they only had 2 movies of 3 hours because they drug the movies on too much and there definitely wasn't 9 hours of good stuff.  I watched the first movie in a theatre and I was so bored I wanted my money back.  I don't want the whole first movie to be basically building up to something.

I also like mafia movies.  Casino, the godfather movies except for the 3rd one which was terrible,  A Bronx Tale, and Goodfellas were all great.  Casino and Goodfellas really show how great of an actor Joe Pesci is.

I agree about The Hobbit, I was terribly underwhelmed.
Huge LOTR fan and The Hobbit was just... sad! Jokes were just silly, "haha fat orc", really? Putting in a female character was a nice move, but then totally ruined by the fact her only job is being a love interest, which was also badly executed (like, really, elves live for millions of years yet she would take a silly infatuation so seriously?)... Evangeline Lilly was a bad pick for the role, she would've made a great Eowyn but terrible as an elf. I really couldn't care less about these movies.

The LOTR movies however I have seen 50 times each at least. I used to tally it when I was in high school. I've done at least 4 marathons of them all, extended.

Also I love Titanic, I rewatch it every couple months if the boyfriend lets me, and Romeo + Juliet.
Also, Wolverine: Origins.

I love rewatching movies, anyway. I'm like a Teletubby.

They did drag it out a bit because it was such a short book and they wanted three movies like LOTR.  Still loved them but LOTR was better.

"Gaslight" [1944] starring Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer, Joseph Cotten and in her first screen appearance Angela Lansbury.  Directed by George Cukor.    I didn't know who directed it the first time I saw it and thought the director was Alfred Hitchcock.

Aw I liked the Hobbit. I went in with lowered expectations about it dragging on. That could be it.

Donnie Darko & Two Hands are my rewatch movies.

I also rewatch the Skins (UK) TV series every few months. I've seen it an embarrassing number of times. Just the 1st gen. I just made it up to the second last episode & had to switch off (after Chris' death). It's gut wrenchingly sad. What am I doing watching something that makes me miserable, when I'm already miserable? Stupid twit.
