Licorice Root

This is one of the things I've been meaning to try, but I'm sick of wasting money on supplements that don't even have a placebo effect. That's a big problem for me when it comes to taking supplements.

Licorice looks really interesting on paper, though: increases/modulates cortisol, detoxifies some internal organs, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, etc. I'd guess the benefit for us would be the cortisol effect. Speaking for myself, my cortisol curve is a problem and my body seems to compensate low-cortisol situations by pumping out unwanted amounts of (nor)/epinephrine.
