  1. I found something to pull me out of depression: starting my own business online! I had no idea that it was so easy. You people should try it too. PM me for the link. Good luck to all of you and hope to see you there. It's a super nice community and I feel very welcome.
  2. So I think I've found a solution to my job troubles. Soon I'll be able to make money - all from working at home! This is truly amazing and I can't wait to delve deeper into it. PM me for link if you're interested to try it too. Hope to see ya'll at the top!
  3. This is definately worthy of your ear. Please listen to the lyrics carefully and let me know if it brought you any insights about your life, your depression and so on. Thanks! 'Please PM Member for video'
  4. I often consider suicide. I sometimes think the only thing stopping me is the fact that I don't have the balls to do it. And I would miss some earthly pleasures I guess..
  5. Despite my misgivings about Sex and The City. I will have to check this out, thanks!
  6. So I worked for my Father for most of my life at his Italian restaurant. Things in the past few months have changed drastically though. I started managing the place and it turned out that he just didn't like my method. I worked super hard for him and he showed not an ounce of appreciation. I couldn't take it anymore so I had to leave and currently I do not even speak to him anymore. Putting that depressing episode aside though - I have a bigger problem at hand - and that's finding work. I am now jobless and my only experience is working for my father's business. I have very little to offer the working world. With a degree in philosophy, a few hobbies like writing, acting, singing....it's proved to be very tough for me to find a job. Especially in todays' job market. So what should I do? I'm slowly running out of money and if I don't find anything soon, I just may have to start asking friends to borrow money. This is really something I don't want to do. Niether do I want to get some s***ty job flipping burgers. Anyone have any suggestions?
  7. My closest Uncle died recently so I can really identify with some of the post here. It will be a lonely Christmas for me too as I don't even talk to my family anymore. But ah well. I've never been a huge fan of Christmas anyway.
  8. I think it was Socrates or Plato who said 'Know thyself' I think this is more important than loving yourself. You may just find there are some things you need to change about yourself before you can really love yourself. We all have faults. The challenge though, is recognizing them.
  9. hehe. I thought this pdf was for men and their depression concerning women. Too bad. lol
  10. Hm. I really hope you can find a way to give yourself more strength. Lord knows I need some too.
  11. I have a funny relationship with music. Sometimes it inspires me to be less depressed....while other times it can set off little triggers from the past. One song that has helped me a lot is 'Change' from the band Blind Melon. It's main message is 'When life is hard - you have to change it." 'Please PM Member for video' And here's the lyrics. Very inspiring. I don't feel the suns comin' out today its staying in, its gonna find another way. As I sit here in this misery, I don't think I'll ever see the sun from here. And oh as I fade away, they'll all look at me and say, and they'll say, Hey look at him! I'll never live that way. But that's okay they're just afraid to change. When you feel your life ain't worth living you've got to stand up and take a look around you then a look way up to the sky. And when your deepest thoughts are broken, keep on dreaming boy, cause when you stop dreamin' it's time to die. And as we all play parts of tomorrow, some ways will work and other ways we'll play. But I know we all can't stay here forever, so I want to write my words on the face of today. and then they'll paint it And oh as I fade away, they'll all look at me and they'll say, Hey look at him and where he is these days. When life is hard, you have to change.
  12. I certainly think pets can help with depression. Whenever I babysat my brother's s***sou I really found myself smiling more than any other time. Maybe it's because he's just so cuddly and cute! My siblings and I once bought my mother a s***sou for Christmas and she has never been happier. She loves that little thing to bits and I definately noticed her smiling more generally. So yea, if you're depressed. Get a pet!
  13. Hey Guys, Just thought I would say hello. I'm Franco. I've been depressed ever since my close uncle died and the string of events that happened after that. My family is broken up, I no longer speak to my Father, and things won't ever be the same. My family seems to have taken his side - because he has all the money I guess. Now I'm jobless and I have no one. Life kind of sucks. I occasionally consider suicide but most of the time I'm fine. I guess it depends on my mood? Anyway, stumbled upon this site and thought I would check it out. Look forward to talking with some of you.
