  1. My husband and I are estranged. We have a 16 month old daughter together, but he's been kicked out and living with his mom since December of 2010. He is a cronic alcohol abuser and has been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. He hasn't been cooperative about seeking treatment or finding a job either. Two days ago he was drunk and told his mother he'd **** her in her sleep. She called the cops and they found a knife under his bed. He's now in jail charged with a felony. I don't know what to think, how to feel, or what to do. I never thought he was dangerous before, but now I think he might be. Any advice or people in similar situations? Please and thank you.
  2. I am the youngest person in my DBT group. I really hope to get a handle on it so that I can live a full life. Thank you :)
  3. Hi If it helps any, you're not alone. I too have found myself obsessed with my best friend. and when she was sexually attracted to me, I let her do stuff with me for a while even though I'm not bisexual and when she got a gf who didn't like me, she put all of her time and energy into her. She kicked me to the curb as a friend. We also used to talk every day and share everything. It sounds to me like you may have BPD. Your needyness an fear of abandonment sounds like classic symptoms. I'm not a doctor however. but it might be worth looking into.
  4. Thank you guys for the welcome :) I'm loving DBT to the fullest! I really have hope of possible recovery now. :)
  5. Really? I had some stomach pain and insomnia. that's about it and those went away.
  6. It's funny how different drugs effect different people differently. I hated Zoloft. I made me anxious and my stomach hurt. and it didn't hrt. Lexapro on the other hand, is a mirical drug for me. Thank you for the reply :)

    Dbt Therapy

Thank you for your reply and for taking the time to look it up on Wikipedia :) I suppose most therapies use a bit of Mindfulness and Radical Acceptance. I'm hoping to find others on this site who are in DBT or have BPD at least. If you don't mind me asking, what is your Dx?
  8. I am taking Lexapro (Esitalopram) 20 MG and Abilify (Aripiprazole) 2 MG for the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder and Major Depression Anyone else taking this mix of medication for any reason? If so do/did you find it helpful? I'm even interested in feedback from those who are only taking one out of the two. Thank you in advance. :)

    Dbt Therapy

Are any of you a part of, or have been a part of DBT therapy? For those who do not know, DBT is Dialectical behavior therapy. It is used to treat Borderline Personality Disorder with a set of skills and with behavior modification. It's been really helpful for me.
  10. I takeLexapro (Escitalopram) 20 MG and Abilify (Aripiprazole) 2 MG I am in DBT therapy and the skills are very helpful. Self soothe, Distract, Radical Acceptance. and when skills fail me my DBT therapist is there for phone coatching. Best of luck. :)
  11. Well i certainly hope so. I think it's easier to get over with DBT therapy and medication. At least for me.
  12. Hi I'm Andra, aged 21. I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and Major Depression in April of 2011, though I have known something was wrong with me since I was 5. I currently take Lexapro (Esitalopram) 20 MG, and Abilify (Aripiprazole) 2 MG I waited on a waiting list for DBT 6 months and finally got in in October. It's going great. I love it. I can't speek highly enough of DBT Therapy. I like people and helping people so if anyone ever needs support or a chat buddy I'm here. and I guess that's a bout it :)
