  1. My advice would be that if you believe that your fascination with this new person may lead to emotional distress or other negative outcomes, and you’re saying that you’re now at the point where you can stop it before it goes that far….then I would advise you to stop. Not that I’m qualified to give any advice on HOW to stop because I still have COs. I actually had the pleasure of meeting one of my COs recently and it was the highlight of my year! So I can’t stop, won’t stop. But I do wish everyone well whether you’re still posting here or just lurking occasionally. Also to those who have gone away forever and will never read this, I hope you’re ok out there too!
  2. Hey there! I have so many favorite bands that I’m not even sure who you’re talking about at this point, so no harm done. You can just shoot me a message if you would like to get more specific about your CO and which band he may have worked with. I don’t think you’ve missed much since this thread has been pretty quiet. I have CO-related topics to discuss, but don’t want to feel like I’m talking to myself with all the crickets chirping around here.
  3. Yeah, I know the feeling because I've thought that too! My CO met his wife years before I ever knew who he was, so clearly she got there first! They're kind of a cute couple even though I don't like to admit it. He's always talking about how important she is to him.
  4. Not to dismiss your concerns, but s/he would be a VERY inexperienced therapist if this is the craziest thing that they’ve ever heard! Nothing that you wrote sounds weird to me. Insecurity about our bodies is extremely common whether there is a CO involved or not. I don’t even think my CO’s wife is that attractive but she’s a lot skinnier than I am, and I’d trade looks with her in a second if it means that I could get his attention.
  5. The season is already in progress, but you can always catch reruns! I’m trying to narrow down the locations for the fantasy suite dates right now. I think it’s going to be Montana, Las Vegas, and Hawaii. But glad you can relate. I don’t plan to eliminate any of my COs. I like having multiples! But for some reason, my mind still wants to always be able to definitively say which one of them is (currently) in the #1 spot. I don’t know why. I’m just weird! But I can understand wanting to choose just one if you have multiples in the same band. That’s happened to me before quite a few times and they were also brothers.
  6. I’m just checking in to say hi to everyone and that I hope everyone is doing well for the most part. I currently have three COs. More than that really, but at least three. I’ve been entertaining myself by playing “Fantasy Bachelorette” in my head where I imagine that I’m on the show “The Bachelorette” and I have to choose between all of my COs. I run through the whole show in my head from the moment they step out of the limo, the rose ceremonies, the hometown visits...all of it. I haven’t gotten to the end yet to pick the “winner” because I’m not ready for the show to be over, but I think I know who I’m choosing in the end. It’s sad that I’ll have to break my other COs’ hearts though. Anyway, I REALLY hope that I’m not the only one who does this bachelorette fantasy thing...
  7. So you had a dream about a former CO which has now renewed your interest in him a bit? Or you’re just questioning why you had the emotional reaction that you felt in the dream? It’s easy to get caught up in a dream because it feels so real when it’s happening. You could have a dream that you’re in a romantic situation with someone who you never even thought about in that way, but the dream might lead you to see the person in a new light. But yes, it’s been way too quiet here so hopefully that means that everyone is healthy and as happy as can be under the current circumstances. I’ve been well. I’ve had the opportunity to communicate with other fans of my current CO and they seem equally obsessed if not more obsessed with him, so I definitely don’t feel alone. Of course most of them are a lot younger than me, so I’m more understanding of their fangirl behavior than my own. But it is what it is and I have to have SOME kind of entertainment during this pandemic situation!
  8. It’s perfectly ok to gush sometimes! Sadly my CO doesn’t really post anything on social media, so I’ve mostly just been fangirling over his pics on Tumblr. I feel like he’s the cutest thing ever and the greatest thing since sliced bread even though I know I’ve said the same exact thing about my past COs. Oh well... I meant it when I said it!
  9. Glad to see a few new posts here. I hope everyone is doing well (or at least as well as you can be considering all that’s going on). I still have a CO who I’m very much obsessed with, and I’m ok with that. If not for him, I wouldn’t have very many happy thoughts to focus on these days. Since my CO is a musician, of course I long for all of this to be over even more so that touring can start again and I can go see him. Stay safe everyone and try to check in from time to time to let us know how you’re doing.
  10. Yes, the entire site disappeared for me yesterday, but now I’m able to access it. But when it was down, I too was thinking that this might be the end for us. I’ve gotten bored with COs too, so that’s understandable. I’m not bored with my current one, but I think I may have discovered a new guy who might become a future CO. I don’t know enough about him right now to say whether he will, but I just know how my obsessions start and my interest has been piqued. Right now, I only know his name, age, and that he’s in a band. I don’t even know what his band sounds like, but if they aren’t any good then it won’t work out. lol Maybe I should refrain from listening to their music for as long as possible because even if they are good, I don’t need another CO right now!
  11. Thanks, but it’s just not the kind of behavior that I want to repeat in the future, so I won’t. I think that gifts should be reserved for people who I have an actual relationship with.
  12. For one thing, it's not like I'm a person who loves to give gifts in general, so it was out of character. I'm also not the kind of person who gives gifts to celebrities because I don't feel like they need (or particularly want) gifts from fans in most instances. As I said, this person is not a celebrity, but still. He was a random stranger on IG, so why give anything to him? I was basically just doing it to get more attention from him (which I did get a little). But it was still very cringeworthy and unnecessary. Eww.
  13. Yes, I think the prevalence of social media can definitely fuel these obsessions. You mentioned some "non-celebrity" COs and I've dealt with that too. There was a "model" who I only knew of via IG who I became a bit obsessed with for some reason. Maybe because he was a nice guy and he would attempt to be nice to his followers and chat with us. He also looks a little bit like my current CO (but not that much, maybe just a similar aesthetic). But now I cringe when I think of my thirsty behavior. I even sent this guy a gift for his birthday (ok, and there was one other random gift too for no reason. Yes, he thanked me for both). But I eventually lost interest and unfollowed him on IG. I wish I could say that I was a stupid teenager when it happened, but it was like two years ago.
  14. An actor just can't hold my attention for long. With musicians, I can listen to their music every day, watch tons of their stuff on YouTube, and go see them on tour. There's only so many times I can watch the same movie or TV show without getting bored. There were actually four actors who I took an interest in over the past two years, and after being obsessed for a few weeks or months, I got over it. My musician COs usually last for years though. My current musician CO has done some acting. I don't really think he's that good at it, but of course I'll still watch his show whenever it comes out. lol
  15. Hi! I totally understand what you mean about not wanting to know about his personal life and just focusing on the character. I usually fall for musicians instead of actors, but there was an actor who I liked but then started to like much less after finding out some things about his personal life. And I agree that finding out about their significant others makes things less fun. I like to think that I’ve mostly “accepted” my CO’s wife, but then she’ll post a picture or video of them together that makes me jealous again. lol So yes, just enjoy your fantasy!
  16. So if you think a lot of what they say about him is true, then the problem is him and not LSA, and your anger is misplaced. But if you choose to like him despite his flaws then who cares what anyone else has to say about him? He’s definitely not the only guy with a PR girlfriend. Some people on the Internet will always be unnecessarily mean because it’s easy to do that when you’re anonymous.
  17. I’ve read some of the threads on LSA and I usually end up laughing. I guess I’m lucky that the people there don’t care about or simply don’t know who my COs are for the most part. There is one actor who I used to like who I don’t like as much anymore after reading the thread about him, but that isn’t LSA’s fault. I just got bored with him. But if you find the site too negative and really don’t want to go back, maybe you’ll have to add it to your list of restricted websites until you have the willpower not to look at it on your own.
  18. Well now that 2019 is almost over, I just want to say that I hope that 2020 will be a better year for everyone. My beloved cat died earlier this year and that was obviously tough, but things got better. I credit my CO with helping me cope with the loss. I had his music to comfort me and help me through it. My CO also happens to be an animal lover and he has cats of his own, so when I decided to get a new kitten, I named it after him. I specifically told him that I wanted to do that (I’m a nerd) and he gave me his blessing. My kitten is almost a year old now, but I don’t think I ever shared that story with you guys, so better late than never! Looking forward to see what 2020 will bring!
  19. @Myshka, that’s great that you’ll get to see them live! So now we’ll both have fun concerts to look forward to in 2020. Maybe my CO might even go to see your CO’s band when they tour since he’s such a fan. (Oh, and I just tried to send you a message but the messaging system doesn’t seem to be working right now, so I’ll try again later).
  20. I too thought I had maladaptive daydreaming, but there’s also something called “immersive daydreaming.” Since I don’t want to stop daydreaming because I enjoy it and it doesn’t prevent me from doing other important things like going to work, I was told that my daydreaming doesn’t qualify as “maladaptive.” Not that the people who told me this were experts, but they basically said that I couldn’t join their little “maladaptive” group since my daydreaming doesn’t cause me pain and suffering. I still think I spend way too much time daydreaming since it’s my default state of mind, but I’m not looking to change that.
  21. Hey there, that’s awesome that you finally got to meet him! I’m glad everything turned out great especially since you helped fund the show. You made it happen! I’m sure it was a very cool experience since it was such a small and intimate show. I had dreams that no one else was going to show up to my CO’s show except for me, but that’s not exactly what happened. lol Were you pretty calm when you met him? I figured that I would have the chance to meet my CO since I knew that he always takes time to meet with fans, but I was still nervous about approaching him. I was stressing about it from the moment I got there. I even contemplated just going home when they were done performing instead of sticking around to meet him, but I figured I would regret it if I didn’t seize the opportunity, so I did! But sadly as this always happens to me every time I meet a CO, I still don’t feel like I really took in the moment. It just happens so fast and then it’s over. Or maybe there just won’t ever be a time where I’ll feel satisfied, and I’ll just have to keep going to as many shows as I can. Which isn’t completely terrible, right? I want to go to as many shows as I can for as long as I can because I just love going to shows! @Myshka, there’s a movie about your crush that I saw and I wonder if you’ve seen it? I really enjoyed it and the incident that you mentioned about him dying and being brought back to life is in the movie too. He was very fortunate to get a second chance to turn his life around. I’m actually not too familiar with the band, but I know a lot more about them now since I saw the movie. Maybe I should watch it again! I don’t even know what your crush looked like when he was younger because I’m picturing the actor who played him in the movie. lol But I do know that my CO (not the newest one, the other one that I’ve had for two years now) really looked up to this guy who you’re talking about and his band, he said that this guy has always been really nice to him, and he even had the chance to go on tour with them, so I’m sure that was very exciting for him.
  22. It’s been sooooooooooooo quiet in this thread. I hope everyone is doing ok! I’ve been pretty good. Three weeks ago, I had the pleasure of seeing my latest CO in concert. He’s only been my CO for about 5 months, so it’s all still new and exciting. He’s in a band that isn’t very famous, so it was a small and intimate show, and I also got to speak to him afterwards without handlers hovering around waiting to usher me away after a few seconds. lol I still didn’t speak to him for very long since there was a (small) group of fans behind me waiting to speak to him too. But it was still a cool experience and I’ve had some post-concert depression since the show. I was tempted to fly across the country to see them one more time on this tour because I really don’t know how long it’ll be before they do a show near me again. It kind of sucks to go back to living your boring life after you’ve experienced the high of a great concert that you had really been looking forward to. Now I don’t really have anything that I’m excited about at the moment. At least not until the next tour. I was lucky enough to see three of my favorite bands in concert over the past 6 months, so I really shouldn’t complain. It’s been a good year for me CO-wise.
