  1. Anxiety and panic are they the same or different? I know when an anxiety attack is starting, I feel warm, heart is racing and feel panicked. Today when I got up, I have huge panic feelings but not like anxiety (at least when it starts). Add that to my depression and I don't know how I made it to work. I feel like I want to be home hiding under the blankets.

      I hope everything is okay!!

  4. I have been reading this poem for the past week and I wanted to share it, I'm not sure exactly why. I guess it is the darkness. I hope someone can enjoy it. Sweet Darkness When your eyes are tired the world is tired also. When your vision has gone no part of the world can find you. Time to go into the dark where the night has eyes to recognize its own. There you can be sure you are not beyond love. The dark will be your womb tonight. The night will give you a horizon further than you can see. You must learn one thing: the world was made to be free in. Give up all the other worlds except the one to which you belong. Sometimes it takes darkness and the sweet confinement of your aloneness to learn anything or anyone that does not bring you alive is too small for you. ~ David Whyte ~

  6. Hi geokid, I've only been dealing with pain for a few months. It has made my depression worse. I have found that TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) helps a lot for temporary pain relief. I got mine for free (covered by insurance) from my pain management doctor. I
  7. Hi luckypenguin, One of the things that I learned from my therapist is that when I
  8. Hi, taking that first step is the hardest and probably the most important. It took me a long time to get up the nerve to talk to a doctor about my depression. Don
  9. Hi Poision Tree, I glad to see you here, I have found a lot of wisdom on these forums. I can relate to how you feel. My experience has been that meds can do wonders but it is a trial and error process to find what works for each person. It can take some time. Just kown that your not alone and that you will get better.
  10. Play guitar unless I'm at work, then I read depressionforums.
  11. BetterOff, Thanks for your support, I've been on various AD meds for several years. I think before that, when I was very depressed, it just didn't matter or I didn't notice because I couldn't feel much worse. Now that I'm not so depressed all of the time I guess that I'm a lot more sensitive. We are planning to go to therapy together soon. I don
