    reading, web, meals, alcohol, real ale. Programmer. Suffered depression for >25 yrs. Officially dx in 2001 with depression and Personality Disorder. Self harmer (cutting, OD, etc).

    Was in intensive psychotherapy at Therapeutic Community from 8th September 2003 to 27th January 2006. Was back at work, now off ill again after taking an overdose and dislocating and fracturing my shoulder. Still off with depression.

    Hi there, I notice you are on effexor, I had good success with this med years ago and have gone back on it up to 225mg, this is my 7th week at this dose and have been riding waves, feeling quite good for a 2-3 weeks then dip with some mild anxiety, do you think this is normal at this stage, Im just getting over the flu, do you think that might be condributing to the way I have been feeling

    I got the sweats too, but it does get better but does take a while. I put a leg out to keep cool.

    I've been away for a few weeks, since the 12th. I took an overdose and ended up in the local hospital in a very bad state. Imagine being out of it for 4 or 5 days and hallucinating for the next few days. Anyway got out and the next day I asked to see the oncall dr at the psych hospital and ended up inpatient from 21st to today. I probably won't be around for a while I need to take a break. Keep yourselves safe. Use your drs, counsellors, crises lines and hospitals if necessary. It feels awful to know that your depression is only marginally helped by meds and that nothing really will help.
