20yearsandcounting's What Are You Listening To? Thread #5
braindead replied to Natasha1's topic in The DF Water Cooler
Listening to the album Mook, by the band of the same name. Unfortunately they don't make music anymore. I just finished crying about it while stalking their myspace and facebook pages from the early 2000's... but I'm grateful to have discovered them. Something about quirky early internet bands that nobody remembers gets me all emotional. (From Underground is my favorite right now) -
Watching BBC's 2016 miniseries War and Peace! I've never engaged with the source material, I just think Paul Dano is a cutie... so far I'm greatly enjoying it. Not sure how faithful it is to the original, but it's great. It's like an 1800s soap opera, I can't count how many times I've gasped out loud in shock! And if you were wondering, yes, Pierre is my favorite. Like I said, Paul Dano is too cute to handle.

I feel things are getting worse
braindead replied to Mel d's topic in The Relationship and Depression Forum
Mel... I know this isn't a very 'professional' response and probably not what you wanted to hear, but LEAVE his ass! I understand it's not just that easy, especially if you're married and have been for some time, but this sounds like a serious problem. As upsetting as a pornography addiction and other things you described are, lies make for a horrible relationship. By the sounds of it he does not respect you. If he did, he would be able to act like a mature adult and have a conversation with you, not deflect or cause arguments. You shouldn't have to put up with that. I would seriously recommend respecting and valuing yourself and trying to find someone better. But, if you feel you just cant and still want to try to save the relationship... maybe try couples counseling? If not, maybe talk about it with some family and friends, maybe get someone he's close to to talk to him about it. Sending you love and light! -

Am I being emotionally abused?
braindead replied to lostinsadness's topic in Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgender Issues
yep. i think it's in your best interest to stay in the closet or get away from these people. reach out, try to find places to stay. were you planning on living at home forever? -
(sorry, my capslock key is broken.) ive reached a state where i dont know what to do anymore. i have no one to talk to about how i feel, doing it feels pointless and overdramatic anyway. nothing makes me happy. i dont feel like doing anything. everything i used to feel x10. its making me feel manic. like im just getting pushed around through life without thinking about anything, i feel like a shell. i'm supposed to be thinking about colleges and careers right now, but thinking about next week sends me into a panic. work work work work til you die. whats the point in a career if that's what happens? might as well just die when the atmosphere finally gets done in by exxon mobile. maybe if im lucky in my next life ill get to be one of the new species who evolves from whatever crawls out of the radiated sewage after the world ends and i wont have depression i need some damn drugs before i really do off myself : / but having to talk to a psychiatrist or something would be such a drag. having to talk about how i feel feels like such a chore. anyone relate?

Does everyone really have their own crap?
braindead replied to JessiesMom's topic in DEPRESSION CENTRAL
of course everyone has their own crap. there's so much crap that few things can save you from the otherwise cataclysmic experience of being human. but your crap is just as crap as everyone else's. just cause you're not a homeless guy in new york or a starving kid in africa doesn't mean your crap isnt crap. pardon my french but your mom sounds like a real hardass, i dont doubt you had it hard. its ok to say "i had it bad". -

If you really want to take this job you better do some extensive research to make up for the whole not qualified thing. Disabled kids get enough sh!t as it is, u gotta be educated to give them the care and understanding they need.

Ok, sorry, one more thing. I'm an easily irkable person i guess. I HATE -with a burning passion- companies and corporations that use their social media accounts (namely twitter) to act like real people. I despise this new marketing tactic where they try to be hip and cool by getting millenials to push their propaganda. I cant fully explain why it's bad and i hate it, but companies have no place trying to assimilate with us real people. Take your twitter jokes and leave, Satan.

UUUGH, I hate people who don't keep their dogs on a leash! Not only is it irresponsible, it troubles dogs like mine who are nervous and dont like it when your yappy chihuahua or giant untrained dog run up to them and bark at them. Plus, what if my dog happened to be dog violent? It'd be your problem what happens next!

Adults that think they're entitled to be rude to workers or make their jobs harder. "Just leave your trash there, it's their job to pick it up!" Oh, and slow walkers. I have places to be, man!

"There's so much pain beyond this steeple- wars and drugs and homeless people. Sadness where there should be joy. Hate and rape and Soulja Boy. A world in darkness needs your light so I know your schedule's pretty tight... but my dog just had leg surgery, so if you could fix that first..." - Bo Burnham

How much sleep have you been getting?
braindead replied to I need a hero's topic in DEPRESSION CENTRAL
my heart goes out to you. the scum called the education system has no sympathy or compassion for teenagers. might be just a hunch but ill bet this is one of the factors of the teen depression epidemic. -

Would Being Rich Make Depression Better Or Worse?
braindead replied to ArthurP's topic in DEPRESSION CENTRAL
Money makes the world go round. I might still be sad, but at least ill be sad in gucci slides and without the fear of poverty looming over me -
How much sleep have you been getting?
braindead replied to I need a hero's topic in DEPRESSION CENTRAL
probably 6 hours every night. makes me feel like im dying or like i wanna off myself. teenager's bodies are wired to fall asleep around 11-12 and wake up at 9. i cant help it, its the only time i can fall asleep. the education system has decided i dont matter and must wake up for school at 6 it's taking a toll on me mentally and physically
