  1. @nojoy I’m so sorry for all you are going through. It brings tears to my eyes. Oh how I wish things to get better for you. To be doing so well and then to be knocked down so hard is just the worst. I’ll keep you in my prayers.
  2. Welcome! Thanks for being brave enough to reach out to us and share what is going on. I find depression can do awful things to my thinking and attitude that are hard for me to overcome without help and support. So don't be hard on yourself. Depression can be an illness that you didn't cause. Negative thoughts are part of this illness. Yet it can get better. So don't lose hope. Many of us find it easier to pretend we are okay because others just don't understand. We are here to support you as best we can. So keep reading and posting. It may take awhile to get responses as we all have a lot going on. So please hang in there with us. BW

It doesn't hurt that my meds are finally working good for me. Your mental health is very important. Losing the money could be less painful than losing your sanity. It sometimes take us a while to respond as we all have a lot going on so hang in there with us. BW

  20. Hi @MikeG and welcome! I too am in the senior age range. You can contact any of us by sending a personal message clicking on the envelope icon at the top of the screen and typing in the name like I did yours.
  21. Happy birthday to you! It sounds like you have a lot on your emotional plate. To expect yourself to handle all that isn’t realistic. I think to seek treatment isn’t failure, it’s courage. Please be gentle on yourself and get the help you need. BW
  22. Welcome! Sorry you are struggling. My depression use to come in waves but the last seven years it has stayed around. I faced a traumatic event when I was young that caused me to feel not good enough and from that I developed perfectionism to cope. I still struggle with that today. So I relate to you in a way. I feel for you in that your way of coping also causes financial stress. Glad you found us. We will support you as best we can. BW
  23. I feel for you. Wish there were some refuge for you to feel safe and accepted. BW
  24. I haven't heard of your symptoms being related to depression. So I, too, suggest seeing your doctor. BW
  25. Sorry you are having a hard time of things. In my experience, being unmotivated and uninterested in life, is a sign of depression. Since your therapist believes you have depression and you are on medication, you may need to give that some time to work. 20mg is a low dose for that medication so you may need to still find what dose best helps you. When it starts to work, you most likely will feel a lot better and more able to get things done and enjoy life more. BW
