  1. Yes! It used to help, but then my depression and other issues worsened and I lost motivation in general. I wouldn't even read it. Yesterday I forced myself to open it, and now I'm writing again. It's like having "past you" motivating and pushing you forward. I use it as a positivity journal/creative outlet. I only write positive things and draw, etc.
  2. Last year, in May, I bought a notebook to write positive affirmations on to help me keep a positive mindset. I neglected it for over 6 month and finally I picked up where I left.
  3. Hi @Epictetus, nice to meet you too. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Hi @virvellian, yes! From the album Badmotorfinger. It's a band that has helped me cope with my issues throughout my entire life, what happened to Cornell is still somewhat of a shock to me. And well, thank you too for taking the time to welcome me.
  4. I switched to Valdoxan (Agomelatine) plus Paroxetine. The dosages are still off, possibly on my next appointment I'll be prescribed a higher dosage on both meds. I started with Lexapro (escitalopram) but it did little to nothing for me, but it might work for you.
  5. The most important thing is to talk to your therapist first, he/she is the most competent person to help you switch to another medication. Plus, you will need guidance when it comes to switching since quitting Cymbalta can have some nasty withdrawal symptoms. I had the same issue as you, all of a sudden it was doing nothing for me, after years of taking it. I switched a month and a half ago and I'm seeing some improvement, still got a long way to go, but it's helping.
  6. Hi! I'm new here as well, joined a couple of days ago. I agree that this place seems friendly and supportive, although I've not been here long (at all lol) that sure seems to be the vibe and I hope you find this place useful. Congrats on your baby, and for doing your best for both of you. That takes so much courage and strength. I wish you the best, you can do it!
  7. Being able to relax is great! That's a huge accomplishment. And I'm glad your appetite improved today, congratulations. :)
  8. I'm always very withdrawn when it comes to sharing my accomplishments. People usually never 'get it', therefore I never share these things. But this is a safe zone, so here I go: 1. I made my bed. Changed the sheets, made it up all pretty. 2. Organized the clothes in my closet. 3. Controlled my impulse to binge eat. 4. I have worked all day on a new watercolor painting, very slowly though... At times I feel like giving up but I'm forcing myself to go back to my desk and continue, instead of neglecting it for days as I'm prone to.
  9. Thanks @Life_Hope_Love! The link does seem useful! I will definitely re-read it and apply the technique described, I've never tried that before. Thanks again!
  10. Thank you very much @LeilaNadine. You guys are all so kind, so far I believe I made the right decision and I'm feeling less anxious about joining DF and participating.
  11. Thanks @velvetpuddles, @samadhiSheol, and @Pinga!
  12. Hey everyone, new here. I won't lie, it took me quite some time to finally muster the courage to join. I do believe this place has something good to offer and for me to benefit from, so I'm giving it a go! My struggle with mental illness is life-long, I've been anxious and depressed since I can remember (and adding up trauma to the mix) hopefully this place will be a positive outlet where I can actually relate to some of you and grow as a person. Find support, give support. I don't want to make this introduction longer than it should be, so I'll wrap it up. Thanks for reading. - Drawing Flies.
