  1. I'm sorry you're going through this. Honestly it seems like they want to get rid of you and are finding any little thing they can to justify it. It sucks and is really scummy on their part. Polish up the resume, I'm sure you'll be able to find something better! And remember, if they're willing to pull this type of stuff and the company lets them get away with it, it's not a place you want to be. Good luck and hang in there!
  2. Hello, I've been on it for a little less than a year now. It took awhile to find the right dose, but I do think it's helping for both depression and anxiety. Nothing life changing, but it has helped to lessen the symptoms. In terms of side effects, I had a bit right at the beginning and then had a week or so of them whenever I increased dose. It wasn't anything too bad for me, felt very flat and had kinda muted emotions. These went away after the adjustment, and aren't bothering me now. I've had some other, longer lived potential side effects, but I started a bunch of medicine around the same time (after avoiding the doctor for over a decade - not a good idea) and I think these are causing my other issues. Obviously, as you said, everyone reacts differently, but I'm hoping it works for you!
  3. Hi Everyone. I just found these forums over the weekend, and it looks like a nice community. As for an introduction, I'm a 34 year old guy who has been fighting depression since I was a junior in high school ( so I guess about 18 years or so). It hits me really hard on and off, and I just recently climbed out of a 8-9 month major depressive episode, probably the worst that I've ever had. Frankly it's been a terrible year filled with health issues, career problems, relationship issues, a ton of rejections from job searching, and a growing isolation and loneliness. I've been dealing with so much, and it seems like there's no end in sight, and that I've got no hope of ever being happy. I guess I'm not sure what else to add. I guess just let me know if there's any questions......
  4. Not sure I've got any good advice for you, but just chiming in to say you're not alone! I'm in a similar situation, looking for a new job while working in the one that I hate. It's always hard to know what to do, and job searching itself is a hellish time. Like I said, no great advice, but lots of good luck wishes!
  5. Depression can certainly cause fatigue. It might be worth talking to your doc. There's a lot of things that can cause fatigue, I know a lot can be ruled out with some simple blood tests. My wife and I are both struggling with stuff that causes fatigue (besides depression for me) and we didn't learn about them till early this year.
  6. Had a TON of meetings today, so not much. Did give my coworker some advice about grad school applications. Also did some job searching.
