  1. Hi Queenbee75 please do not discourage, I felt exactly the same way and suffered so much. Into my 3rd week I started to feel a shift and now after 1 month on he meds I feel better than I've felt in a long time. Do not give up! Plow through it and be patient because it'll be so worth it. Believe me!!! Hang in there!
  2. Just want to thank all of you for the support, after 4 weeks these meds have finally kicked in and I am feeling so much better. Had it not been for this forum don't know that I would have continued taking them and most likely would still be suffering thank you all so much
  3. Hi need help, thanks so much for checking in on me. Sure enough, now being in the second week, side effects have let up substantially. However, now I'm afraid to increase to the prescribed 10mg as I've been taking only 5....afraid to go through it all over again...
  4. Thank you Bhorout, this is very helpful to know. I'm trying to be patient but just want to feel normal. Feeling more depressed than before I started taking it
  5. Thank you 20 years and counting, it's encouraging to know that eventually these side effects will wear off. Thanks so much
  6. Hello need help, do you know if the symptoms/side effects get worse again after increasing to 10mg? I'm afraid to increase as it's been terrible on just 5mg
  7. Thank you so much for that, I'll try to plough through the pain and hope this starts getting better. It helps to know that this is expected
  8. It's my first time taking Lexapro and I'm really worried about how I'm feeling. I've always struggled with anxiety and years ago I took xanax for a very short period with immediate relief and then awful weening to come off it. My anxiety got worse recently so my doctor put me on 5mg of Lexapro. The first 5 days were excruciatingly panicky, high anxiety like I've never had in my life! Now going on the 2nd week (the doctor has decided not to increase the dose to 10mg due to the high anxiety I am feeling) I'm plunging into a depressive state, feeling lost in life and the world, anguished, helpless...really dark...what is happening? Will this get better or do I have a serious problem?

  10. I'm on my 9th day of the medication, initially started taking it for anxiety and now I feel like I've never been in such bad shape, not only am I more anxious, now I'm also depressed and anguished, feel lost. I wonder if I should stop taking the meds. This is really worrying me

thanks for any help out there

When you click on a forum you want to post, there is usualling  a box that you click that says start new topic not too far from the top, if you click on that, you should be good to go.

It can take several weeks for your body etc to adjust to medication. Im not had that type myself, but many have side effects, including suicidal thoughts with somecmeds when first taking. Then things settle down. Once you post your thread it forum, people with experience will more likely see and respond. You can also check out old topics whilst you are waiting, many may answer your concerns too.

I'm sorry you're feeling so bad, but welcome to DF l hope you find the support you deserve.
