  1. I've been on Wellbutrin (300mg) for four months. Slowly (but quickly more recently) I've lost all interest in household duties (stay at home mom) and my husband. Everything he does irks me and it's taking a toll. It's not normally me, we've always been close. But I just don't care if he's around or not. I feel like I need to switch medications. I can't continue my marriage giving him the cold shoulder. It makes me incredibly sad, however I can't change it Next interest was Effexor.. Thoughts? Did any specific medication bring your happy & loving side out again? :(
  2. I'm about five weeks in on Bupropion SR (generic of Wellbutrin 100mg x2 daily). I felt great motivation initially, but the last two weeks I feel like I had before starting the medication (blah, snippy, not motivated). I have a checkup appointment with my doctor tomorrow to discuss it, but not even sure what questions to ask. Is there a difference between the name brand Wellbutrin and the generic Bupropion? Would I benefit from trying the name brand? Would I benefit in upping the dose? Thoughts? I haven't experienced any side effects as some have (weight loss/gain, rise in libido, headaches, nausea, etc).

  4. I've been on my new medication (Bupropion) for a little over a month. I felt great motivation initially, then nothing the last two weeks. I was getting down about it. Then today! I've shampooed all rugs, steamed the tile floors, unloaded the dishwasher, loaded the dishwasher, unloaded again, conquered four loads of laundry, cleaned both bathrooms, cleaned my oldest daughters room... I don't know who I am today, but I LOVE it! I can't wait for my husband to get off work and come home to see he will get to relax this evening rather than assist me in doing things!
  5. I was concerned about that. A nice relaxation would be nice after the children are down. Or the taste to pair with specific meats at dinner. I'm certainly not one to sit around and binge drink or go out and social drink. But on medications I wanted to be sure the effect wouldn't feel that of binge drinking. No prior alcohol abuse or seizures. No other medications taken.
  6. I'd like to hear thoughts on safely drinking while on anti-depressants. I enjoy two glasses of alcohol maybe once a week, but I've held off completely since beginning my medication (Wellbutrin SR) three weeks ago. Thoughts?
  7. To be honest I wouldn't up the medicine just to increase libido. You'd also be increasing the chances of other side effects (such as seizures). Keep in mind we all act act differently, so it just may be that the increase libido doesn't not work for you.
  8. I take mine in the morning because my reaction is a boost of energy. A friend of mine takes hers at night because she reacts fatigued. I'd definitely be taking it at night if you're sleepy.
  9. Two weeks ago I began on 100mg a day. I gave it a week and felt no different. She upped me to 200mg, twice daily. I have a follow up in three weeks and plan to ask for 150mg twice daily to be at the suggested 300mg daily.
  10. I have post partum, and my doctor believes maybe semi seasonal as well. Started 100mg a day, now up to 200mg twice daily. Hope your appointment went well!
  11. It's SR, so I definitely need to be taking it as described then, once in the morning and the other dose maybe afternoon? I just didn't feel a sense of normalcy on the 100mg in the morning. :(
  12. I am a newbie to Wellbutrin. I am prescribed 100mg, twice daily. However, I have been taking the full 200mg once daily when I wake in the mornings (instructions of 'twice daily' honestly slipped my mind when upped). It gets me going in the mornings and I can be on a roll with my duties all day. BUT, what would be the difference of taking the full 200mg in the morning compared to the 100mg twice daily? Does the 2x a day help prolong the effect throughout the 24 hour period... Orrr? I naturally have awful sleep habits (takes me awhile to fall asleep and toss all night), so I'm afraid to take the second dose later in the day. Yes, the prescription is for '2x daily'. Thoughts and suggestions though for 1x vs 2x? I do plan on bringing this up with my doctor.
