  1. I hope you had a fantastic day :)

  2. Hi all. Well I just found out that I am about 5 weeks pregnant and had been taking Ativan, 1/2 of a 1 mg tablet, some nights to help me sleep. I stopped 6 days ago when I found out I was pregnant.. But now I am concerned about the effects that the ativan could have had on the baby.. I have an appt with an OB set up a few weeks from now and will talk to him about this, but if anyone can give me any advice, I would really appreciate it. Thanks everyone! Jen
  3. Hi all. Well, I am not currently taking Lexapro right now but have taken it in the past for anxiety and it helped me quite a bit. Recently, I have been having quite a bit of anxiety lately and its making it hard for me to go to sleep at night. I have been taking small amounts of ativan, 0.25 to 0.50 mg but I know that is definitely not something you can take during pregnancy. Anyway, I dont know if I am pregnant or not but it is a possbility, going to take a test soon. But I am just wondering about the safety of Lexapro during pregnancy at a low dose. When I was taking it, I was only taking 1/2 of a 5 mg pill and even that small amount helped. I read the post about celexa being relatively safe during pregnancy but I am not sure if that would apply to lexapro even though they are related. Well, if anyone can give me any more info about this, especially about the use of Lexapro in early pregnancy, I would really appreciate it. Thanks all! Jennifer
  4. Thanks, this is what I thought. I have talked with my dr, actually nurse practitioner, and she gave me ambien to use instead since it is a class b pregnancy medication, but I am little worried to use it because of all the side effects I have heard of from it like memory loss, amnesia, etc.. Im not sure what other safe alternatives there are for sleep during pregnancy... Well, thanks again..
  5. Hi all. Well I take Ativan 0.5 mg some nights to help me sleep. I like to try not to take it too much. Anyway, I stopped taking my birth control pills a few weeks ago, and I am worried about unknowingly taking ativan if I get pregnant. I would stop as soon as I found out I was pregnant, but would it be harmful to the baby if I was taking ativan in the first few weeks of pregnancy? Also, I have read that Ambien is a better choice if you really need something to help you sleep during pregnancy, since it is a Class B pregnancy medication. Has anyone here used this during pregnancy? Well any info on these drugs and pregnancy would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!!
  6. Hi all. Well I had been taking 1/2 of a 5 mg pill of lexapro for about 9 months. I just stopped taking them on Feb 1st. I just didnt feel like I needed them anymore and I would like to get pregnant soon also. Anyway, I have heard about all the weird withdrawal symptoms, like the lightheadedness/dizzines, or head spins. I really dont know what to call them! Its just weird. I really didnt think Id have any withdrawal symptoms since I was on such a low dose but I guess I was wrong! Anyway, this probably started about a week ago, when I was sick. At first I thought it might be due to being sick or having a sinus infection possibly but now I am over that and I am still feeling this way. Its really frustrating. Whenever I am just walking around I feel like this. I cant even imagine how Id feel if I had been on a higher dose! Anyway, for those of you who have gone off of lexapro, how long do these withdrawal symptoms last? Its been 16 days now since I stopped so Im hoping this will go away soon! I just want to feel normal again. Anyway, thanks everyone for your help!
  7. Thanks everyone. Well I took the 200 mg of l-theanine last night. It did seem to help relax me some. Hope it continues to work
  8. Thanks for the info McCoffee. I tried l-theanine 100 mg last night and it seemed to help a little with anxiety. I think I will try 200 mg tonight. By the way, cute picture!
  9. Hi all. Well I have been researching Sam-E and L-theanine (suntheanine) and have heard very good things about both of them being used for anxiety and depression. I would just like to hear from any of you who have used one or both of these supplements and if you think they are helpful for depression/anxiety, though I mainly just need something to help with anxiety. Also, dosages and brands would be helpful too! Thanks everyone!!
  10. Hi all. Well I have been researching Sam-E and L-theanine (suntheanine) and have heard very good things about both of them being used for anxiety and depression. 11. Thanks for posting that escape. That is some good info. I havent taken a lot of herbal supplements but I have taken valerian before which does have a relaxing effect, though i think it upset my stomach.. Also, I have just been reading about L-theanine or suntheanine and it seems to have helped a lot of people. Does anyone know about this supplement? I am thinking about trying it. I kind of like that its an amino acid instead of an herb. Would be nice if it actually worked. Thanks again!!
  12. Thanks everyone. I have heard of some of things mentioned in this post but have never tried them. I have also heard that fish oil (omega 3) is good for depression/anxiety. Anyone try this? Anyway I think during my last pregnancy I was pretty tired too. Hopefully it would be the same and I could sleep without taking anything. Probably about the only thing I could take for sleep while pregnant would be benadryl but that causes urinary problems for me, which I had enough of during my last pregnancy! Well I really appreciate all of your help. I am glad to have found this board!
  13. I read a book called "Natural Prozac" (can't remember the author) and it goes through step-by-step lifestyle and diet changes to treat depression w/o meds. I didn't actually to bother to do the program, but there were some interesting ideas in there. Good luck!
