Sometimes the darkness feels comforting because you can't see the truth of who you are.

Has anyone ever found their true love on Depression Forums? I would love to hear some stories.

How are the new ventures going? Miss seeing your encouragement on here. You started a new blog and Facebook page, right?
-
Hey Thornwell! Awwww, thanks! I do have a new blog and Facebook page and both are taking off quite nicely! I've been spending a lot of time on them. And yeah, I haven't been on DF much over the last several weeks... too much going on IRL! How are you these days? Nice to see ya! =) =)

I'm good. I accepted a new job so I will be very limited in time. I won't be on here much but that does mean I get to focus more on doing other things that will build a good foundation for me to build on in the future. Glad to see you and great to hear about the trajectory of your blog! Thanks for the update.

Hooray for you!!!! I'm happy for you. =) =) And thanks so much about my blog, etc... I am having a blast with it! Take good care of yourself.... HUGS!

As I was typing earlier this song came on my Pandora. Made me think of you.
Swing Life AwayAm I loud and clear, or am I breaking up?
Am I still your charm, or am I just bad luck?
Are we getting closer, or are we just getting more lost?I'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own wordsWe live on front porches and swing life away,
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,
I won't cross these streets until you hold my handI've been here so long, I think that it's time to move
The winter's so cold, summer's over too soon
Let's pack our bags and settle down where palm trees growI've got some friends, some that I hardly know
But we've had some times, I wouldn't trade for the world
We chase these days down with talks of the places that we will goWe live on front porches and swing life away
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand until you hold my handI'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own wordsWe live on front porches and swing life away
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end
I won't cross these streets until you hold my handSwing life away
Swing life away
Swing life away

“A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.”
C.S. Lewis | The Problem of Pain
-
C.S. Lewis was one of the authors I probably read more than any other in my grammar and high school years...I took a class on him in college.
Always an interesting writer and thinker. When I was a Christian, I thought his apologetics--and more the way he wrote about them--were brilliant. Though in time, I would come to dismiss some of what I saw as flawed or overly-rosy logic of it.
The lunatic is a lunatic because the rest of us can literally see, feel, test and experience the sun. Not so with an invisible, silent deity. In fact, those who hear voices (schizophrenia and the like) are indistinguishable on this point from the religiously fervent who hear god speaking to them. Early cave men understandably were sometimes thought to believe their own inner monologues were the voices of gods speaking to them. Don't mean to get into 'debate' here, but hopefully it's okay to share from my own journey. (I remain open and humble and in many ways seeking, even if not finding, a higher power).
