  1. I have been on Wellbutrin (300mg) for 3 1/2 months - along with 20 mg of paxil, 150 mg of Lamictal, 10 mg of Seraquil (for sleep). I still feel crappy. My medication person (not an md or psycologist, just raised the Paxil to 20 mg. I am on my 4th day on the new dosage. Anyone think I should ditch the Wellbutrin, and go on something else? I was on 20 mg of Paxil for 12 years, which worked. I became depressed this time (4th time), because my dad was diagnoised with liver cancer in Feb 2014. He died on Sept 11th. I also had to move to Ne from IL, so my family could help me. I had to put my 86 year old mom in a nursing home out here. This is the worst case of depression I have ever had. I have been through hell this past year. Just wondering if their is another md, that would work better with the Wellbutrin? I was hospitalized in July for one week. The Psycologists there put me on Wellbutrin 300 mg and Lamicktal. Any helpful input would be appreciated!
  2. James, Thanks much! I will stay with the Effexor until I can get a new doctor. I figured that with all the things going on in my life - maybe thats why the Effxor isn't working?
  3. Been on Effexor since May 16th (225 mg), and still feel like crap! I have had a lot of turmoil in my life since Feburuary (dad, 87 diagnoised with terminal liver cancer - only months to live), and now having to place both my parents (mom, 86 and dad) in a nursing home. I have been the primary care giver of both since 2006. So; I am wondering if I should go off of Effexor, and on to something else? Or; stay on Effexor a while more? I use to be on Paxil, which worked for me. I am going to change Psycharists, as the one now charges me $275 per visit, and is pushing TMS at 8K or so. I have no health insurance!
  4. Thanks for the reply! I have been on Effexor for about 5 weeks, and it doesn't seem to be working.
  5. Is celexa simmilar to Effexor? Just asking, because Effexor isn't working for me.
  6. My psychiatrist recently added 10 mg of Adderall to my meds. He said I seemed lethargic and tired (which I am), and that Adderall would perk me up. Anyone else here on Adderall. I do not have ADD, which I believe the med is made for. I am also currently on 225 mg of Effexor and 30 mg of Remeron at night.
  7. James, Do you think bumping up the dosage to 250 would help any, from 225?
  8. Shmooey, Thanks for the reply! I do the same thing, but just thought I would ask here.
  9. James, Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I do need to give it a little time. I have been mentally and physically exhausted, since my dad was diagnosed with liver cancer in Feb. He's not the easiest person to live or deal with, and the cancer has made this worse. Maybe it's taking the Effexor longer to work, due to this??
  10. Anyone know if Zoloft would be a good choice of meds for someone who use to be on Paxil? I was on Paxil for years, and with a recent bout of severe depression, my doctor put me on 225 mg of Effexor. I am currently on week five with Effexor, and still feel terrible. So I guess Effexor isn't going to work for me?
  11. Well; I guess I am another Effexor casualty (doesn't work for me). I am on week five of 225 mg of Effexor, and still don't feel too good. I guess I will have to do the med limbo, and tapper off and switch to something else? Paxil used to work for me, so maybe Zoloft would be a good choice?
  12. I am on 10 mg of Abilify in the morning with 225 mg of Effexor. My question is; I ran out of 10 mg pills, but habe quite a few 2 mg Abilifys. Could I just take five 2 mg Abilifys at one time to equal 10 mg. Or; is this not advised?
  13. James, Glad the Effexor is working for you! I have now been on 225 mg of Effexor for three weeks, and feel a litttle better. Nothing dramatic yet. I have been living under some duress at home. My dad was diagnosed with liver cancer in Feb, and has been putting alot of pressure on me for every general thing. I live with him, so there is no exscape. Hope I start feeling a litttle better soon!!!
  14. James, Thanks for the words of encouragement, It helps alot! Regards, Bill
