Being nice to hurting people today made me smile because I realized that even though I might be hurting and going through. I still can be a blessing to someone else.

My friend, I learned along time ago when I first begin to realize that I have mental health issues. That if you want to feel better just help others and it takes your mind off of your own problems. It makes you feel a little bit better about your life.

Ah I've just observed from what you have written on here that you are always helping others both on here and at work , I know you don't do what you do to bring glory to yourself though, you do it out of love for your fellow humans and that's very commendable

    Exercise! #2

Well today was weights and I upped the squat, lunge, clean and press weights. Not by much but enough that I hit failure limit and had to rest once in each of the groups. Actuallly don't feel bad right now. We'll see if I can say the same tomorrow... My shoulders and upper back must be changing or all my shirts are spending too much time in the dryer. They all fit more snug.

How do You Feel Right Now? #12

I had a truly wonderful time with my separated wife and her daughter the last few days. They drove all the way down, hauling a bunch of my junk. The wife took the time to explore my puny super humid town, and the daughter taught me how to read scales on a guitar. For once, I actually think I've had a genuinely good couple of days. Despite the heat.

What a bad way to say that! That makes it sound like the virus is some kind of fashion for this year. This 'fashion' is getting popular in some states, while other states are just not 'fashion conscious'. I cannot even find a word to describe this irresponsible reporting. How many people have to get sick, die, lose their jobs, etc. before the 'media' treat this like the world-wide disaster it is? OK, I will climb down off my soapbox now. (The statement itself is funny considering the choice of comparative words.)

I have no intentions in dying any time soon but the people that keep asking me I am in the will right will get a surprise in the end. They will be in the will but I'll make sure I leave this world in as much debt as I possibly can so they'll get what they ask for that's for sure!😊

This description also feels familiar. Dr. Edith Eger, whose memoir blew me away: "It's as though all the tears I can't allow myself to shed on the outside are draining into a pool inside. I can't ignore the grief, but I can't seem to expel it either... I don't have the vocabulary to explain the flooded feeling in my chest, the dark throb in my forehead. It's like grit smeared across my vision. Later, this feeling will have a name. Later, I will know to call it depression."

I read this too. She just launched a new podcast and I'm wondering, will she talk openly about struggling with it? I hope so. When I read "low-grade depression", I also wondered what the term meant. Is she experiencing vicarious trauma, triggered by videos on social media? Then again from the attributions listed, her depression could be from grieving secondary losses and symbolic losses. Or maybe I'm projecting on her. I'm grieving loss of life and lifestyle, loss of leadership and the deterioration of civility.

Not exactly sure. Tired for one thing. Just got back to town. Long story, so I will try for the shortest version. Mother is in the hospital. They are taking good care of her, but her condition has its 'ups and downs'. It looks like things are going to work out one of two ways, but both options have their own issues and complications.

Don't think we're gonna leave you, if you do, your wrong. I know there are a hecking lot of nasty people out there, (like my ex) and Jaelyn, and, I could go on and on but that wouldn't help. I know for certain I don't want you to die, and as a matter of fact, I don't think anyone here does.

    You Are The Gift

Your right, I have a super tight friend group, and the the three of us wouldn't be complete without each other. I am a gift to them and they are gifts to me. I love the idea of this thread.but that defiantly does not mean we are the same, we all have our struggles, I have some problems with attitude and depression. And they have their problems. Life is full of people and only one you.

I'm sorry to hear you had another rough night. I hope you respond well to Trazadone; or are able to find the outcome you are looking for. I'm still trying to find a bedtime routine (ritual) that will help with my sleep hygiene on top of the trazodone. Keep on trying and keep us posted. Good luck.

Michelle O'Bama has said she has what she termed "low-grade" depression. She attributed her condition to Covidian turmoil, racism, politics, and the policies of the current White House. I'm not editorializing, it's what she was saying. And I don't doubt she is suffering, albeit at a low grade. I wonder if her depression is a different kind, or just a different amount? It's the kind of phrase the media sometimes picks up though, "low-grade depression." "How's your depression today?" "Low grade." "Well . . . that's good then." 🌡 Bulgakov

Keto cream cheese brownies. Not as good as the loaded with sugar ones but work well for our carb cycling. Made with almond flour instead of regular flour. First time we bake with that. It's not hard to work with and makes things fluffier.

    Exercise! #2

Went out on the trails with bikes yesterday. A bit muddy in some spots and some small ravines were loaded with water. So we got a bit wet and dirty. It was fun. Got in 2 hours or riding. My back is seriously pissed off today. Oh well. Thought about you @sober4life when I came to a crossing. 2 butterflies flew in front of my bike and wouldn't leave. They guided me through a twisty section that has lots of rocks and gets a bit crazy. As soon as I crossed it then took off. I figured you sent them to keep me out of trouble. Thanks!

"Out of Time," on youtube. Written by Keith Richard and Mick Jagger, performed by Chris Farlowe. Just learned from poking around on youtube. Keith and Mick wrote it in 1966, and Mick also produced a 45 record of the song done by Chris Farlowe same year. I never heard of him, but he was better know in England and has continued singing. YouTube has a 1986 tape of Farlowe, twenty years after the single, and you can see why Mick produced it, even though the Stones released it the same year on an album. I suspect Mick picked up some style notes and phrasing from Farlowe. He sounds like Mick, but smoother. Bulga

    Difficulty sleeping

I started taking Wellbutrin (Bupropion) about 5 weeks ago (like it very much and effect still seems to be growing). I had pretty significant insomnia prior to taking Wellbutrin, so my Doctor prescribe Trazadone out of the gate. I had an amazing night of sleep at the first dose. Initial RX was for 25 mg, can go up to 50 mg - but I've been able to keep it at 25 (only take 50 if I have a particularly "busy mind" at bedtime. Easier to fall asleep - and if I do wake up it's brief and I go right back to sleep. (Dreaming for the first time in years!!) Now, the important stuff - while I try to get a full 7 - 8 hours a night and waking up well rested, if I have a short night of 6 hours or so - I might be a little groggy, but nothing a quick shower can't wash away. It is not habit forming, and I can easily skip a night if I need to. In fact, I feel like it has improved my overall sleep hygiene that my sleep has gotten better rather "organically". With my Doctor's okay, I continued taking 3 - 6 mg of melatonin, also. Bottomline, I am extremely pleased with my combo of Wellbutrin and Trazadone.

The main thing I notice is the overall feeling like I am in the process of coming down with a 'bug'. The general, vague feeling of 'I am not sick, but I do not feel well.' Any or all of the following. Tired as though I cannot get rested, and it feels like it takes so much more effort to even move. Muscle or joint aches -- not real pain, just achey as though I mildly over exerted myself. Slight 'tummy ache' whether I have eaten anything or not. Basically, nothing feels 'right'.
