I TOTALLY know how hard that one is. I still struggle with it to this day. (If you haven't seen it yet, check out the "How To Get Motivated To Take A Shower" thread. It's really encouraging.)
You go, girl!!!

I now come with my own disclaimer.
"Hi I'm Ding and at some point I may well offend you, this is neither deliberate nor intentional, merely a side effect of my habit of typing what I think"

It's nice that I can admit stuff like that here and actually be understood.
If anyone out of cyberspace knew that I struggled to take a shower they'd be horrified. Hell, they'd be horrified if they knew I'm majorly depressed.

Thanks. You guys are so supportive. And Frangipani, I'll look for that thread.

I know what you mean. Not being understood is kind of a lonely feeling. You're not alone here though. There are alot of people on DF who know what it's like.

On a more serious note, you say that your majorly depressed. Do you mind telling me why? I'm interested and want to help a fellow traveler.

I showered AND brushed my teeth.
Maybe I'll shoot for the stars and try sleeping...
Congratulations !!! Oh my I know how that is. I try to brush my teeth every day (almost) ... but the showers no way ... not so much. It's just too hard.
Yeah like you said, other people don't understand why it's so hard for us to take a shower ... (or wash our hair) ... you know ... it's just ... hard. I truly think only people who are going through it can understand.
So I'm proud of you :)

This is great news to hear. I'm so glad that you have the motivation to do those things. I know the feeling of being so unmotivated in doing anything that I just let myself rot in one place. It's a step forward and I wish you good luck for the rest.

YES! +1 for beachgirl! This topic makes me want to go take a shower, I don't know about the brushing my teeth though haha.

Hi BlueEros,
No, I don't mind telling you why. I assume it's genetics, brain chemistry, and circumstance.

Forced myself to take a shower today too! It made me feel comfortable enough to leave the house for a few hours.

I totally relate to everything you guys are saying. If my mum hadn't nagged me to shower I'd stink right now. Thank God I moved back. If I brush my teeth it's usually for about ten seconds.
