Whoo-hoo, beachgirl! :Coopclapping:

I TOTALLY know how hard that one is. I still struggle with it to this day. (If you haven't seen it yet, check out the "How To Get Motivated To Take A Shower" thread. It's really encouraging.)

You go, girl!!! :buttrock:

Gratz! :D I've had days like that in the past, I couldn't take a bath because even if I managed to bother running it, I'd never get out

I think i was happiest when I thought the least.

I now come with my own disclaimer.

Awesome. You've just inspired me to do the first thing of my day. It can be hard to figure out what to do getting out of bed. Showering is going to be what I do when I finally get my butt out of bed. Great job.

Thanks. You guys are so supportive. And Frangipani, I'll look for that thread.

It's nice that I can admit stuff like that here and actually be understood.

If anyone out of cyberspace knew that I struggled to take a shower they'd be horrified. Hell, they'd be horrified if they knew I'm majorly depressed.

I know what you mean. Not being understood is kind of a lonely feeling. You're not alone here though. There are alot of people on DF who know what it's like.

YES! +1 for beachgirl! This topic makes me want to go take a shower, I don't know about the brushing my teeth though haha.

On a more serious note, you say that your majorly depressed. Do you mind telling me why? I'm interested and want to help a fellow traveler.

Congratulations !!! Oh my I know how that is. I try to brush my teeth every day (almost) ... but the showers no way ... not so much. It's just too hard.

Yeah like you said, other people don't understand why it's so hard for us to take a shower ... (or wash our hair) ... you know ... it's just ... hard. I truly think only people who are going through it can understand.

So I'm proud of you :)

Congratz! (:

This is great news to hear. I'm so glad that you have the motivation to do those things. I know the feeling of being so unmotivated in doing anything that I just let myself rot in one place. It's a step forward and I wish you good luck for the rest.

Hi BlueEros,
No, I don't mind telling you why. I assume it's genetics, brain chemistry, and circumstance.

I'm a newbie; spent the last month reading other people's experience of depression and decided I wanted to join in.
I totally relate to everything you guys are saying. If my mum hadn't nagged me to shower I'd stink right now. Thank God I moved back. If I brush my teeth it's usually for about ten seconds.

Ever since we got new tiles in our bathroom we have agreed to dry off the shower-tiles after each shower - to try and it clean - however somedays - like today - just thinking about that (very hard work) makes me not want to shower!

If I didn't have to work, I can tell you I would not be showering. I only do it cause I have to certainly not cause I want to. And even then, it's every other day - Oh, I'd probably go longer, but my hair won't let me. Thought I was the only one that had these issues!
