about my depression is not caring about anything. It makes going through the day to day stuff so hard. Depression takes away any chance you have at enjoying your life. It boils it down to just trying not to feel pain or feel any worse. So you spend most of your life with that little shred of hope that you will wake up and things will be different. I am really not sure if I have that hope but I guess that is what keeps us going. I feel stupid about it because it is false hope. Sorry I just wanted to get my thoughts out.

When the walls come tumbling in

Where there is life, there is hope....one of my favorite quotes I adopted after a near fatal car accident in 1993. Don't give up, it will start with just getting by, trying not to feel bad, and then slowly you'll find something that might make you smile on TV (my favorite is the dog treat commercial with the doggy dentures, there's a pomeranian on there that looks just like ours and makes me smile every time), then you'll find that there is something you enjoy even just a little...

I agree it's a slow, painful process but baby steps. It's all worth it!

I really like your post. hope, faith, and love are what remain. the greatest of these is love.

Above all else, guard your heart.

I often feel really crappy. It is very difficult to change. I have found changing how I think is also very hard. I try to talk my self up at times and remember positive memories.

It seems that there is a strong possibility that you are experiencing the depressive symptom anhedonia. Anhedonia is essentially a loss of interest or pleasure in things that used to be pleasurable or interesting, and a general emotional numbness or "zombie-like" feeling. If you are wondering if you have this, then you probably don't, because if you do, you will know exactly what I'm talking about - it's like someone has turned all of your emotions "off." You can't find interest in girls, you cant "feel" music, etc. If you feel that you have this, as I have had for 10 months, I encourage you to visit my thread where I am compiling a strategy guide for the benefit of everyone experiencing this debilitating symptom here: http://www.depressio...ve-experiences/

I will be periodically adding information about it there as well as my own personal experience with it and treatment status. I hope that things get better for you and hope to see you there!
