I've been on adderall for an ADD diagnosis. Not sure what kind but my family doc agreed that I have a problem. I'm taking XR10mg. It's starting to have less of an effect after taking it for almost a year. However she refuses to increase the dosage because I only weigh 124 lbs. She's done every single test under the sun including: kidney ultrasound, blood test, heart ultrasound whatever it's called, stool samples, urine samples.....etc.
She is a family friend and she knows that my family has a huge history with cancer so she is being cautious. Anyways, I made an appointment with a Pdoc without her knowing. I'm not seeking out medications, I am having trouble at uni...I just want to graduate soon. I'm a senior but I am not walking in the spring due to retaking some classes.
My question is....how long will I have to be taking meds for? I mean from reading and researching medicines it seems that all add meds end up having to be increased at some point because our bodies increase our tolerance and the dosage that used to work no longer works. Will I haveto be medicated for the rest of my life?
