I have been struggling with major depression for the last 11 months all my meds work at first and then they stop I have been on so many different kinds it's not funny. As a last ditch effort I had a sleep study done and have been diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnoea , my p doc says this is why my medication doesn't work and why I'm not getting better and also why I am constantly tired . I can't get back into the sleep clinic till next thursday I know it's only 6 days away but to me it feels like years away and everyday till next Thursday is going to be a complete and utter struggle. I'm hopping that getting my sleep apnoea sorted is going to fix me up , but I'm so scared its not going to do anything and I am going to have to keep lving like this . I don't know what I am going to do if this doesn't work.

Hi Nat
I know it seems like an eternity and I can also understand how despondent you are that nothing seems to work, but this sounds like a good thing and hopefully they can sort out your sleep apnoea and then you can get some relief.

Dear Nat
First thing is ____you can make it til next thursday____!.
Why? Because you endured 11 months and you are now much closer to get a treatment that works.
I didn't know before that sleep apnea could cause depression. You noticed some symptoms about apnea or you were just having poor sleep?
I will document myself on it
You must be very anxious and almost afraid to have some expectation but there's a phisical cause for all this. Hold on and Keep us updated Nat!

My husband said that I snore loud and I thought he was just making fun of me until my friend slept over and said she could hear me snoring through the wall. so one night I recorded myself sleeping and I was stop starting with my breathing all night. So I did some research and asked for a sleep study.
I have done quiet a bit of research and studies show they are not sure if depression comes first of the apnea but both do effect each other, so my depression may or may not go away but it should definitely improve same with my fatigue.
I know I can make it till next Thursday I just feel like this is going to be the longest week of my life because I want to start on the breathing machine now and I want to feel better now. Also I am a bit scared what if it doesn't work like everything else hasn't, but it has to work.
I think I am just worried that it won't work, well I know I am worried it won't work and I will be like this forever.............. But it has to this has to be.

Hi Nat85,
You can absolutely make it to next Thursday, you've done brilliantly making it through nearly a year of this without knowing what's wrong. I just wanted to say that my mum has sleep apnoea (same loud snoring and irregular breathing) and the CPAP machine she has has been a godsend. Have a bit of faith that it'll work for you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
