This is my first post on here.
I have been on Celexa since 2007. I was on 40mg for about 3 years. In the last 6 months, I have began to taper off the Celexa. I was taking 30mg for about 2-3 months, and have been on 20mg for about 3 months now. However, I feel that I have not been very good at taking the 20mg regularly-- which I attribute my "down spells" and headaches to.
I was just out sick for 8 days, walking pneumonia... and I skipped about 3 days or so. Now, that I am recovered and have to return to work (I teach 2nd grade), I felt very anxious to go back and really just wanted to stay in bed forever. I went to work for 2 days (Th/Fri), and struggled through it coming home completely exhausted. I just spent my entire Saturday in my PJs and on the couch, slipping in and out of sleep as I watch copious amounts of television. I usually am a workout nut, and have no desire what soever to get up and to the gym to work out. I feel so tired, so dizzy, and have this heavy head sensation. I wish I could just snap out of this "funk."
I have such a wonderful boyfriend who loves me, and I feel that my attitude toward him and lack of sexual desire is hurting him and our relationship. I just want to be better and feel normal again. Why do I always have these ups and downs? I am trying to figure out when/why I have these downs spells where all I want to do is sleep and be in a dream-- could it be that it occurs during my menstrual cycle? During a time when I am stressed at work? After I get sick and take a "break" from working out and going to work?
This is my first time making the decision to join a forum and begin communicating with others dealing with depression. Even though I have someone to talk to about how I am feeling, sometimes I feel like he just doesn't "get it."
I pray that this form of expression and "venting" will ease the pain, and aid me on the road to recovery and getting off these D*** pills!
Thanks for your help.

Hello misscelexa and welcome to DF,
I am sorry to hear you are in a dark place right now. It definietely can be difficult getting things done when this is the case. You should share your current symptoms with your doctor while you taper off of celexa.
We are glad to have you a board DF. Its a great place to be and venting is good so feel free to blog and share on the boards. Make yourself comfortable.
