Anyone had any success with 15mg Remeron??

It seems most people on it are on the higher doses, 30mg and 45mg.

It's a pretty mild anti-depressant to be honest, so most people who have serious depression will normally have to take the higher doses if they're going to get any luck at all from it.

15 mgs worked for me. But I needed it for insomnia and a PTSD reaction from a sudden health issue. Actually, less would probably have been fine as well, since in my system, it was pretty potent.

everyones different & of course it depends exactly on your symptoms!
ive had everything from 15 up to 9omg !
for me, 15 was no where near enough to touch my depression etc
however it does seem to be quite effective at sedating & specifically at sendg you to sleep at 15mg!

ive heard of people taking 5mg but that seems way too low to me ???

good luck anyway

Actually, it's a pretty efficacious antidepressant according to several studies. One 2009 meta study of antidepressants ranked it number 1. Comparative efficacy and acceptability of 12 new-generation antidepressants: a multiple-treatments meta-analysis. Lancet 2009 Feb. 28;373(9665) 746-58.

It is true that 15 mg is used mostly for sleep, but it does help some people. I take 45 mg because I am resistant to AD's. I took more, but I couldn't handle the NE action that left me way too anxious and in a constant fight-or-flight mode. Sometimes I think that 45 mg is too much for me because I still get very anxious.

Isnt Remeron also supposed to help with anxiety?

Since most agree 15mg is too low a dose to treat depression, should i consider trying this medication again on a higher dose? Or should i have felt at least something from the 15mg?

I really never took 15 mg so I don't know if you should have felt something from the 15 mg or not. If I were you, I"d stick with the Lexapro and Wellbutrin because it is still way too early for you to say that they aren't working.

Hi!
I was on 15mg and it did help but I did not find a very level ground until I was on 45mg (current dose). Seems to be working well. 15mg should help a great deal with sleep but I did not find it helped to much with anxiety or depression

be well,
Adrian

Hi,

To be honest I didn't find that 15mg did much for me, I was on that dose for the first month then increased to 30mg. About 2 weeks after increasing I started to feel some benefit. At 15mg and below the mirtazapine is predominantly an antihistamine and 5-HT 2 and 3 receptor blocker so good for sleep, anti-nausea etc. I think that at the higher doses, 30mg and above there is more of a noradrenaline boosting effect that helps motivation and mood. Saying that though I found that 30mg was the optimum, 45mg didn't provide any noticable benefit mood wise.

Talk to your doctor, personally I feel that 15mg is more a starting dose or a dose to use in combination with an SSRI to try to reduce SSRI nausea/sexual dysfunction.

Hope it works for you.
