I have had bad reactions to almost all antidepressants except lexapro. It worked for a year and pooped out. I had the dose increased from 10 -15 with no results only increased side effects such as increased depression. Then I took a holiday and tried it again and again as a combination with seroquel, nothing.. I've been holding out for new technology and new and cleaner meds bvut it seems like it will be a long time before that happens, the next one vilazodone probably won't be oyut for atleast another year. That is such a long time when you live in the dark everyday, it has gotten so bad, I just want to know what life is like again and to look forward to a new day. Anyway to cut to the chase, has anyone had luck with lexapro pooped out and had luck with another drug after?? Just curious I know everyones system is different.

Poop Out On Lexapro/other Success Drugs After?

I can't remember how long I was on Lexapro (probably between 6-12 months). It's been quite some time since I was on it. Lexapro didn't provide much relief for me so I can't really say it "pooped out" for me. I went on Endep after Lexapro and this worked for me except one of the side effects was too much for me so I very reluctantly went off it. I am now on Zoloft which has been very good for me.

Bit of advice... try not to dwell too much on "that day" when everything is working. Try to work on your depression using techniques on this website, it will help you until you do find the med that helps you out.
The biggest mistake I made was trying every med in the book with the doctors, anxious about one of them never working. It will, but it will take time.
