I read a book called "Trauma and Recovery" which I thought was excellent. My therapist also has a few books on treating PTSD with cognitive behaviour therapy. I will try to get the titles for you when I see her again.

Emotional Alchemy, How the mind can heal the heart, by Tara Bennett-Goleman. -- This has to be my all-time favorite. It's on mindfulness, core emotional patterns, perception vs. reality, etc.. Excellent book. It's so time for me to reread it.

The body remembers, The phychophysiology of trauma and trauma treatment, by Babette Rothschild.-- Talks about the biology behind trauma, PTSD, memories, with good insight on accepting and healing....

The myth of sanity, Divided conciousness and the promise of awareness, by Martha Stout -- All about dissociation & trauma

Hello,

I have struggled with depression and anxiety for years. My doctor suggested that I get my thyroid checked, which I did. It turned out that there were no problems indicated with the blood test. But just the other day I was on a Canary Club website that noted that saliva hormone testing is often more accurate than a blood draw. I may order a home-test kit so that I can be certain my problems are not related to a problem with my thyroid.
