The Depressionforums.org is the ORIGINAL Depression Forums, a not for profit, free volunteer peer to peer discussion board on depressive illnesses, treatment options and support.
The Depression Forums mission is to continue to create an atmosphere that is both supportive and informative for our members, in a caring safe environment for members to talk to their peers about their depression, anxiety, mood disorders, medications, therapy and recovery.
Our vision is to advance the public awareness of mental health issues, so as to eliminate the stigma that is associated with depression and other mood disorders, preventing the stigmas through education and advocacy and not forgetting to strive to obtain that equality in health care coverage, as it is no different from any other medical illness.

What is the FORUM ADMIN TEAM?
We are a group of individuals, both male and female, who are helping to administer the Forum. Each of us has a personal reason for volunteering and giving of ourselves for a depression-based forum because each of us are either personally affected or recovering from a depressive illness or we have a loved one dealing with such an illness. You will see our posts under different member names such as "Forum Admin".
Besides the names, Forum Admin, FA 2, DFAdministrator, DF Admin Tech, we also have between 10 - 15 members who function as VOLUNTEER Moderators on the team. They help us by being our eyes and ears during the daily running of the Forum. Very little would be accomplished without such a great group of members. All of us together comprise The Depression Forums Administration Team.
Each of us knows the systems very well and we each have access to different administrator functions and features. With our other responsibilites, we all come and go as time allows. We all have the authority to handle different problems individually when appropriate. At other times, we will conference among the whole team when required.
The makeup of the Administration is always subject to change as requirements dictate.
This "TEAM" is fluid and its membership may not be constant. We agreed that it served no positive purpose to make those changes public since such changes will NOT affect the functionality of the Administration of this Forum.
Most, if not all decisions, are discussed and carried out with the consent of the entire team. We may vary in size, the number of Moderators and members may come and go, but our function will continue to be carried out with consistency and without interruption.
At times we will be posting as administrators depending on what functions we are doing on the forums at that particular time, (such as "Forum Admin" or "FA 2" ), to maintain the consistency of the volunteer 'work' we perform. The administrative function will continue seamlessly no matter who is available at any given moment. That is our goal and that is the reasoning behind the way we have chosen to operate.
Considering the real-time nature of this bulletin board, it is impossible for us to review every message or confirm the validity of all information posted. Depression Forums is not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message and are not responsible for the contents of any message posted. It is virtually impossible for us to see and review every post as it becomes posted on the Forums.
The posts express the views of the author who posted the message, not necessarily the views of these Forums or any person or entity associated with these Forums. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by clicking on the " Report" post which goes directly to a moderator at the bottom of a post or by sending a PM to an Administrator. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is warranted.
This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.
These Forums are not run by a full time paid staff, but by a team of volunteers who come and go as their schedules permit. We are not professionals and cannot provide or be a substitute in place of health care professionals.
Depressionforums.org is a not for profit organization and any contributions (Donations) would be greatly appreciated.
