Im new. I am 21 years old and have been on zoloft for 5 years and just recently switiched to cymbalta for a month, then that didnt work so i eventually asked my doctor to get me off these meds, have been off them for a month and still having horrible brain fog, lack of motivation, and werid feeling, hoping that someone on here can give me some help or good news that it will eventually pass, because i only went on zoloft because i was having a hard time dealing with the fact my parents were seperating, and i was having horrible raceing toughts(aniexty attacks), I have been seeing a naturalpathic doctor and i am on several dietary supplements given by her to me. I am just not to sure when these might end, i have been told that it can last from 1 to 7 weeks. Hopefully someone can help me out or any one can relate! i do get breaks of the brain fog but not long enough to enjoy it and it comes back.

I would say that within 1-2 weeks it will be out of your system; that's what my pdoc said when I came off Zoloft. Hang in there and it will get better.

my personal advice on this is to try tapering off, being careful about what you take as far as supplements and any SSRIs to avoid seratonin syndrome. Its gonna be tough and it'll probably feel like months not weeks but if you can just mentally prepare yourself to get off it all, good sentiment your way

hi
sorry to hear about your circumstances. look its hard to tell how long these side effects will last but the important thing to know is that they WILL PASS and u just have stick through. they are side effects of a drug thats temporarily in your system, so although it may seem like forever, they will not permanently stay in your body and will eventually subside. it might take several weeks. everybody is different. i am currently weaning off zoloft and i have side effects too, and im just accepting the fact that it is how it is, and that it will pass. i know its hard to stay positive and be enthusiastic when the sideeffects are so debilitating but its something that cant be helped. although i must mention it is a wise idea not to take supplements when ur on the meds, as you never know how it will all react with antidepressants, even a vitamin supplement can affect the course of the medication. it all causes changes to your body. i was also at one point taking several supplements alongside zoloft but have stopped just to be on the safe side. i too have heard of the syndrome that happens when anti depressants are mixed with other stuff even vitamin supplements. again, furstratingly, everyone is different, so you might be ok to take the supplements. think about wether you really need them, and perhaps talk to ur doctor about which supplements u want to take and get their opinion on if its advisable to do so. goodluck, hang in there, there are other people like you who are experiencing a variety of unwanted side effects, so remember you are not alone :)))
