Hi,

I am in serious depression right now. Went to see a Doc 2 days ago and he prescribed Zoloft for me. Now I know it takes a few weeks to work but I am getting the usual side effects such as fatigue loss of appetite and libido. Basically I am a bit icky on Zoloft but it is manageable. I was actually thinking about stopping it but that's probably not a good idea. I need to get better.

Now can anyone tell me about how their experience with Zoloft went? How long did it take for you to feel better and does it help with anxiety too? Positive reviews for now only please.

HI Karl,

Not on Zoloft but I believe it does help with anxiety. This time on Sundays can be pretty slow on the boards so you may want to browse the Zoloft forum whilst you're waiting for responses. Lots of people have shared their stories on there. Don't give up - the side effects can be tough to take for a while but they do wear off within about 6 weeks.

PRT xx

Karl,

Hi and welcome. I see your a newbie here. Maybe I can give some advice. Zoloft for me took a little while to kick in at first. Don't get discouraged this happens with all medications. As fara s fatigue goes some people take it at night. I take mine in the morning. I ahve been taking Zoloft for 12 years and it helps with my anxiety. Just be patient is what I tell people and we are here to help. Talk to your doctor about side effects. I had a loss of appetite at first too. Some thingare temporary and it is best to talk to your doctor about all that you experience.

Pm if you need to talk

I felt like total crap for the 1st few weeks. Nauseas, sweaty, I didn't want to eat. I couldn't sleep. But as I closed in on the 5th week everything started to fall into place. I could think about eating. I didn't feel like laying on the couch all day. Hoping that I would die. I am a big baby though. I don't want this ti scare you or make you stop your med. How it was explained to me is that its worth it when the med starts working. And its so true. Hand in there. It is worth a little discomfert to feel whole and better again
