:Oo: <<<< Me most nights around 4 or 5. UGH! I fall asleep just fine, thank you. But I cannot seem to stay asleep. I'm on 75mg EffexorXR twice a day, and have been trying BusPar to help me sleep.....not doing it. Thank God I'm a stay-at-home Mom and can nap during the day!
Ambien has worked fine in the past, and even helped me get back on track, sleeping through the night ..... for awhile. Next thing you know, there I am wide awake, greeting the dawn. And my doc won't let me have more than 15 at a time since they are addictive.
I have read through most of the posts on sleep helps. I just hope we can post here and compile who's on what, long term, and how it has helped you stay asleep. I'd really like to join the world of the non sleep deprived for the rest of my life.

Sorry to hear you're not sleeping well....I have had difficulty lately from Effexor 225 Mgs & Abilify 10mgs. My doctor gave me xanax to help sleep, but I still wake early.
I thought Klonopin helped knock me out the best, but it made me feel depressed the next day. My son took Ativan and he seemed to conk out just fine and slept until I shook him awake. Maybe ativan would be of help for you...

I definitely have this problem. I'm on 300mgs of Wellbutrin, 12.5mgs of paxil CR, .5mgs of risperdal, and 2mgs of ativan as needed. I can't really blame the WB because I've had this problem before I started taking it. First the doctor gave me a higher dosage of ativan to sleep, could fall asleep, but couldn't stay asleep. The we tried trazadone, still woke up in the middle of the night and felt groggy the next day. Now we're trying Ambien, but it's not working at all! For example tonight I took it at 10pm, I layed in bed for almost 2 hours and nothing, no sleep. So I decided to get up and play on the computer and now it's 1:49am and I'm still awake. :help:

I've been taking Imipramine for the past seven years at bed time. I have no plans to ever go off of it. I sleep very well now.
When I was diagnosed with anxiety/depression back then, my pdoc said that not getting the rest and type of sleep I needed at night was just adding to my problems.
I feel so fortunate that I lucked out and found this doctor. Unfortunately, we moved out of state and I have been forced to find another doctor. However, my new pdoc seems find with me taking the Imipramine.

Ambien usually helps me, but when my anxiety levels are up, it's sometimes not enough to get me or keep me asleep. At those times, I'll go on a low dose of an atypical antipsychotic, Seroquel. It's pretty much taken at a 'baby' dose when used for this purpose. I take between 8 and 25 mg. at bedtime (my pdoc gives me a lot of leeway). It usually just takes a few days to a few weeks to get me back onto a better sleep cycle, and then I can discontiue it. But if needed, I could stay on it indefinitely. The first few times I took it, I was fatigued and foggy the whole next morning (but then I'm sensitive to most meds), but my body has since adjusted and it's not a problem.
