I am reaaaaaaallyy having a hard time wanting to continue on this medicine. Every day it never fails..I go from feeling eh.. ok... eating lunch..feeling ok.. then like 15 minutes later I feel a mixture of sedation..nausea...foggyness and just general yuck. I can't be having this happen every day because I'm at work monday through friday. Today I felt like I was gonna pass out because I was so tired and totally felt sedated. It doesn't last longer than maybe a couple hours but it's bad enough that I dread the next day's lunch and post lunch. Has this happend to anyone else..if so how long did it last? Should I just talk to my dr. or give it more time? I took 150 mg for one week and started 300mg today. Sometimes I think I'm better not taking anything. *sigh* I'm so tired of taking different meds... this can't be good on my body.. constantly having to adjust...... no.gif

Mz Kitty:

I understand how you're feeling. Changing meds often makes me feel frustrated and angry. Unfortunately, med changes are necessary.

You should talk to your doc immediatly about how you've been feeling. I would try to ride these side effects out, giving the WB more time, as these SE are taking their toll on you. Talk to your doc.

Please keep us posted.

MzKitty;

I was/am anxiety ridden on WB so I cannot identify w/ the sedation at all. I cannot sleep and stay up night after night. The Anxiety is lessening to almost barely tolerable but I'm still not able to catch any ZZZZZ's.

My first week was awful too, so you probably should hang in there just like I am doing and let's hope for an improvement in your after lunch sedation problem and w/ my insomnia as well.

So strange that this med effects us so differently. Most posters here have experienced Agitation from Wellbutrin, however a few said that they take their meds at night b/c it helps them sleep. Perhaps you should ask your MD about trying that???

Good Luck! eve

how did you feel on 150 mg? why don't you do that for a few more weeks (after speaking with your doc of course).

On the 150 I experienced the same but not as bad. I will say tho that today wasn't nearly as bad as the last few days. I got tired but I got up and walked around, and did things to keep myself from falling asleep. Busy day at work too so I didn't have time to nod off. I'm gonna stick with the Wellbutrin and hope that eventually the issues are a distant memory.

I do have a question tho..... Do you guys ever get vivid dreams all night long.. some crazy ones..some just random ones.but you dream the entire night? Yet wake up feeling like you hardly slept...

I take WB (300 mg) and I have vivid dreams -- I've found that happens to me with various meds that I have taken. It is sort of like I am having a dream in "high definition." Does that sound familiar?

Ever since I started on meds 6 years ago, my dream have been very vivid, indeed. You described your dreams as be in "high definition" - that's a great description!

Some of my dreams are so real, they're scary!

one reason that so many people lose weight on this med is because of the effects it gives them after or before eating. You might try, as Beanchop stated, taking it at night before bedtime. I can't imagine this, as it made me so censored.gif irritable and jumpy.... but I'm bipolar and can't take ANY AD's, so you can't go by me. no.gif if it makes you tired, take it at night.... talk to your doctor, and try this... it wouldn't hurt at all. I can't see that trying it would hurt anything. My doctor says that when you experience lots of side effects... make it when you're sleeping.... works better that way. LOL

good luck, but hang in there, usually after a few weeks, or a couple months, the side effects go away entirely.... (or you learn to like them... i'm not sure which) LOL...

Dear 'I am Cat'...Like you, I could never imagine taking it at night either. Now it's almost 4 weeks on Wellbutrin for me & I feel like I'll never experience true SLEEP AGAIN! I am anxiety-ridden. irritable and not well at all. I want to die.

eve123:

You really do need to speak with your doc about your sleep problems. Sometimes a good night's sleep is only an Ambien away. lol Seriously, speak with your doc.

You have my sympathies, for I often find myself sleepless and restless. hugs.gif

Keep us posted.

Wellburtin made me go crazy almost. I was hostile towards everyone most of the time, that's if I left my room. I had insane dreams that were sometimes violent, I never had violent dreams before this crazy med. That's if I could even fall asleep and stay asleep, wellbutrin didn't help with that, just made it worse. I only took that garbage for a month than I threw it where it belonged, in the garbage

Yup, I'm on 10mg of lexapro. I was taking 20mg, but that didn't work to well. I had blurred vision like all the time. Made me so depressed and hopeless, didn't sleep, didn't speak to any of my few friends and basically didn't give a hoot about anything. So i was moved back down to 10mg and I just feel like a zombie all the time and I rarely talk to my friends, I don't know why I don't. I just don't. I basically sit in my room all the time, except for when I go to class. I'm thinking my pdoc may take me off this crazy med.

I also take 15mg Adderall XR either once or twice a day. It depends. I don't take it on the weekends, because I don't have classes on the weekends. I basically take it before I go to school.

Wow - its so amazing how each of us work so differently. I had no problems at all taking it before bedtime, and wow did I ever have the nicest deepest sleeps. Compare it now to me taking Prozac where I never ever feel like I get a restful good sleep.

How about switching to SR Wellbutrin instead? It could be that, even though you're taking the pill early, it's extended release formula is "releasing" it near bedtime? At least with SR you can control how it releases better. I don't know, just putting that out there...

You need sleep!!!
