I've found that Pristiq is the most effective antidepressant that I've tried thus far. Trazodone works well for me too, as did Cymbalta.

Effexor so far has had the best effect/result for me - but it recently feels like It's stopped working or working a lot less than it did.

QUOTE (Earthbeard @ Nov 25 2008, 06:21 AM) Effexor so far has had the best effect/result for me - but it recently feels like It's stopped working or working a lot less than it did. Same thing happened to me and the doc increased the dose to 225mg effexor xr daily and it worked again. Your brain adapts unfortunately but it does continue to work at higher doses.

For me I take Wellbutrin XR 150 mg 2 times a day and 50 mg of Zoloft and it has worked so far. I believe I have some anxiety, havent talked to my doc yet on that.

I dont know if this is the all time record but I've been on 29 different meds at one time or another for mental illness....and have had ECT and a VNS implant. Nothing has worked....I hope to someday get the certificate I deserve from the AMA as the most treatment-resistant patient in the history of being nuts.
