Hi everyone,

I've been taking Zoloft for 3 weeks and have had really severe side effects and have to discontinue taking it. I started at 25mg for 1 week, then 50mg the second week and 100mg the third week.

A friend told me about 5-HTP and I would like to start taking that instead of the Zoloft.

Does anyone know how long I have to wait before I can switch to the 5-HTP?

Since I've only been taking the Zoloft for 3 weeks, do I have to wean off it or can I just quit taking it?

My psych doc won't call me back!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

c

I also had bad side effects on Zoloft. I quit taking it as well after only about a week. Needless to say that was a mistake because I suffered the most horrible migraine I've ever had for about 3 days straight. I would suggest weaning off as best as you could. I've also heard of people haveing brain zaps and seizures from suddenly stopping. But I would definately let my doctor know what was going on and work with him in getting off them.
