Hello wellbutrinies,

I recently switched from WB 150 XR to WB 300 XR: as when I first took the first dosage, I have tremendous problems finding sleep at night, even if I take my pill at 7.30AM?

Any idea? I don't want to take sleeping pills and I already take Seroquel 150mg in the evening; no results...

Pleaaase give me back my dreams! sleep_1.gif

Any idea? Thanxxxx!! oli sleep_1.gif

YES - I drink WB 300 XR in the mornings, not at night!

Hope this helps!

I am on Lamictal and Topomax as well. Though I have prescriptions for sleeping tabs, I rarely take them, just when life is a bit hectic, I would take a sleeping tab on Friday evenings to ensure a good 12 hours' solid sleep.

Hope this helps!

Space

I just have to mention this......... I used to have trouble as well but was so against taking more medication! I tried melatonin but that didn't work. I ended up justifying the that the sleepnessness was due to lower serotonin (as the WB acts on opposing neurotransmitters). So in my long quest to find something to help (in a more "natural" sense), I experimented with a health food store bottle of 5HTP. 50 mg half an hour before bedtime does the trick! I'm no longer waking up a bizzilion times a night. I tried 100 mg and found I was a little too tired in the mornings.

A cheap, easy, natural solution for me! yawn.gif

So I went to the CVS pharmacy to check about Wellbutrin and 5htp interactions and the guy said there were no warnings. So I just took a half(into water) of 100mg 5htp. I'll report back tomorrow.

What I can say is that I got a good nights sleep sleep_1.gif and a weird dream. The onset of 5htp was about 3hours and then I went to bed because I felt sleepy. I kind of did feel anxious at first because I felt different parts of my brain turn on.

So I upped my dosage to 100mg 5htp. The sleep get better, but I get really weird dreams about people from my past in present situations, for example my ex girlfriend. My anxiousness has subsided since now I know how the 5htp turns on in my brain.

I was prescribed Wellbutrin yesterday but won't be starting it till tomorrow. My doctor also prescribed lorzepam to help me with sleeping. However despite not starting this medication yet, instead of trying a sleeping pill perhaps you could try Melatonin. It's an over the counter drug that helps you to get to sleep and stay asleep. It's not a sedative and it's not addictive. My results with it were kind of below average but it will always vary from person to person. Perhaps trying Melatonin can help you get your sweet dreams back. :) It's also used to help people adjust from jetlag and things like that.
