Hi to all, I was on lexapro before changing to effexor xr and I took the weekend holidays a couple of times on it. I took my last dosage on a thurday and didn't take it again until sunday without any noticible problem. I would like to know if it's ok and safe with effexor? Your answer will be appreciated.
Why do you want to do that? I know we dont like to take our meds, but to keep them working we need to take them regularly. I find if i miss a dose, i get dizzy and feel funny.
Take care and talk to your doctor about lowering it rather than skipping it.

I agree with Brenda. If I am more than a couple of hours late in taking my pills (150mg) of effexor, I get kinda dizzy and scatterbrained, and once I missed two pills in one week. Within a few days I suffered a debilitating depressive episode and made my first ever suicidal attempt. If I am diligent in taking them as prescribed, I feel good, they are effective for me. I think it is a good drug, but not one to be trifled with. Take it as prescribed.... if the side effects are too much for you, then see if you and your doc can find another one. Take the Process of treatment seriously, depression is potentially life threatening!
