I just started taking Dex last night, to keep me from my depression and anxiety meds from knocking me about. Anyone have a favorite?

No suggestions at all? Anything would help!

VYvanse is good for ADHD/ADD but probably not for narcolepsy. IDK for sure.
Dexedrine(dextroamphetamine) is awesome for ADHD/ADD and narcolepsy.
I have a script for both medications and I will be up all night if I take the dex to late in the afternoon.

I am on dexedrine 30mg a day. I prefere the dexedrine over any other. I can't tolerate ritalin...it made me paranoid, shakey and made me feel like I was going nuts. The ritalin also had a very steep drop off which caused a bad crash when my dose wore off. With dex the feeling comes on alot smoother and it stays alot longer. Also the crash from dex is alot easier to handle than with ritalin. When I come down off my dex I just feel tired and a bit zoned out. I have anxiety as well and had to take 3 mg's of xanax daily while I was on the ritalin. Now that I am on dex I don't have a need for any benzos and am now just taking the dex by itself. It seems to calm my anxiety better than the xanax. This dex is a stimulant of its own...very calming and NOT anxiety provoking one bit!

After years....I like a regular Adderall (not XR) in the morning to take effect quickly and then an Adderall XR in the afternoon to carry me through the rest of your day.

I've tried Vyvanse and it is very good. However, Vyvanse is similair to Adderall XR and does not have a strong initial effect that I like from regular Adderall.

You'll just need to give them a try and see what works. Be careful to watch the affect it has on anxiety and your sleep.

I just got prescribed 50mg of Vyvanse and I also take 20mg of citalopram before I go to bed every night..... This is the best combination that I have found that treats my severe ADD accompanied with depression..... I was just curious though does Vyvanse stay in your system even after you discontinue the dosage? And if so how long? If anyone has any insight into this I would love to know more.......

All of these meds help in ADD/ADHD, it is personal preference of the Doc oyou get a choice?

I take 70 of vayanase and 10 of adderall the reason for both vynase alone since it's an xr

I only take the vyanase when i'm not doing college work or taksks that requires more details. Plus since one is an xr ,and the adderal is an ir it can be a pian waiting for the vyanase to kick in when you work at 8 am the drug doesn't kick in till 10am .

It's an alert/focus thing vyanase i'm more aleart not always focused.
With both i get both

I have tried dexedrine and stratera, but adderall is the only thing that has both helped, and that I've been able to tolerate.
