Hi

I have been on Cymbalta for a little over two weeks. I get severely depressed and suicidal. So far I have been ok.. which is good. I have side effects though. Some are urine retention, increased appetite and sexual side effects no.gif . I was given Pristiq samples to try to see if the side effects would lessen. Has anyone switched from Cymbalta to Pristiq and had luck? I am female.

I just switched from Cymbalta 90mgs to Effexor today. Not sure if Effexor is the same as Pristiq.
I was on Cymbalta for 6 years and it worked great for me. I just came off of 6 years on Valium so having a hard time. Dr decided to switch my Cymbalta to Effexor to see if it would help. I swear today is my first day and I am feeling better. Of course my doctor prescribed me 150mgs 1 time a day so that might be it.
Anyway, if Effexor isnt the same med as Pristiq I apologize :)
