My doctor put me on wb 300 SR for the last 4 weeks but i dont like the way 300mg makes me feel so i only take 150mg its not helping my depression and come to find out that its not even made for anxiety so i started going to a psychologist he is gonna recommend to my doctor to prescribe me with lexapro is this a good move or not because im sort of scared i been on paxil/wb/zoloft i dont want the startup effects again and ive missed so much work FMLA leave thank god but they still have to be getting sick of me calling in and taking a week off at a time but i cant help myself. its holiday weekend so i wont hear back from my family doctor till next week but since the wb is doing nothing for me should i stop taking it or continue to take it?

work is impossible even driving makes me crazy with anxiety- chest pains hard to breathe light headed. all been checked out with multiple ER+doc visits ive had blood work, xrays, ekg all comes down to anxiety.

i started reading a cognative therapy book called feeling good so far im 90 pages in and it looks promising sorry for the rambling

It isn't advised to stop these kind of meds without your doc knowing. Ussually you need to taper off them under supervision. Try to hold on till you can speak with your doc. These meds take time to work as well and sometimes they can make you feel a little worse when you start them. It takes up to 8 weeks to work properly. ( your doc should have told you that).

Try and take it easy, and keep posting we are here to support you

I agree, all anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications come with information that tell you not to stop them cold turkey and that you need a doctor's supervison to stop using them. Please do this.

i was on wb sr 150mg for a year and a half with great success then when i stopped it after a month or 2 i jumped back on it the same day i took my first dose i had panic attacks i was supposed to do 150mg in am and 150mg in the pm but i liked just 150mg in the am worked great maybe because i didnt have any startup s/e the first time i started it i was lucky and these s/e will go away and ill be back on track? should i stick to it then and not let them put me on lexapro? and is it wise to only do 150mg of the sr in the am?

where im at now is 2 hours after taking the wb sr i get really high anxiety and am unable to focus like im driving to a customers house and i get so panic'd i have to drive home right away if i take xanax .5 in the morning with my wb im good for the day but im a little stoned but on the days i dont take the xanax i go home half day from work because of the anxiety and panic i hate pills and dont want to take xanax im trying to change my thought pattern but that is gonna take time i need a quicker fix any suggestions appreciated.

Hi Leroy,

The increased anxiety may just be a start-up effect. You need to give it a bit longer to get used to it. Also you really should take the dosage prescribed by your doctor. You may not like the way you initially feel on it but you will get used to it and then as it's a higher dose it should hopefully start to improve your depression.
I know it's not nice to take pills but if you just let them work then they can help you cope better and give you the chance to develop more useful coping methods yourself. Then hopefully you can stop taking them when these methods are in place.

PRT xx

Anxiety is not uncommon with Wellbutrin . It may lessen or maybe not. Mine did not. That is why I added the Buspar.
