I've been on Remeron for just over a month and my doctor has decided to wean me off it an switch me to Zoloft. I gained 15 pounds in a month on the Remeron and I was having crazy nightmares. The benefits of the drug didn't outweigh the side effects so we decided it was best for me to stop.
I couldn't deal with that kind of weight gain. I can't afford to buy new clothes and mine are all pretty tight right now!
I'm starting to wean off the Remeron today.
Would be interested in any advice from anyone who's done it in the past.
Thanks.

im sorry,i dont have any experience with remeron, but i wanted to reply as i am weaning off effexor onto zoloft.i have been on effexor for 3 months and have gained alot of weight, which i really didnt need, plus it didnt work anyway.

i started zoloft yesterday, and have to cut down the effexor in a couple of days once the zoloft is in my system properly.

do you have to wean off remeron slowly?
