okay, so i just got out of inpatient because zoloft had stopped working and my pdoc had put me on wellbutrin and it made me hallucinate and caused extreme depression and anxiety. I got put on Lexapro 10mg and AdderalXr 20mg in the morning, Geodon in the evening and Trazodone at night(which i was already on) I keep reading all these horrible articles about weight gain issues on Lexapro, im already overweight and my weight is somewhat of a depression issue for me already. Are there any medicines other than Celexa that are like Lexapro and DONT cause weight gain and are weight neutral?
I give thanx ahead of time for your input;D

Hi Brootalbarbie

How do you feel after your inpatient experience? It sounds like it's been a right merry-go-round for you.
I'm on celexa and I have gained weight but the meds themselves don't make you put on weight, it's more that you may feel a bit sluggish on them or crave carbs and so you eat more and do less - well in my case anyway. People can lose weight whilst on the meds though - so if you can be motivated and set yourself a routine then you shouldn't put on any weight. Just wish I could master that!

PRT xx

Hi, I posted a similar question yesterday so keep an eye on this thread aswell :)

http://www.depressionforums.org/forums/Adv...ons-t35372.html

Personally I dont really know the answer to this question other than that i have put on weight on a few antidepressants (effexor, citalopram and zoloft), so am looking for similar answers.

Yeah I think it may be a lot to do with your self-image. If you do exercise I doubt you will put on weight.
Glad you feel great xx

Do you happen to know anything on Cymbalta and its effect of weight?

Sorry I don't. I did a search and came up with this short topic. There might be some more if you have time to trawl through them. xx

The listed side-effects of all pmeds is weight gain or loss. I've not gained weight on any of the pmeds I've taken except Zyprexa (doubled my weight.) We all respond/react to meds differently. There is a room for Cymbalta if you want more information and to read others' experiences with it.

I am new to this forum trying to find answers myself. I had to put out here that I am one of the people that "GAIN' weight on SSRIs ....I just weened from Cymbalta onto Wellbutrin. I gained 40 lbs in just about 10 months from Cymbalta. It seems that every anti-depressent I try, it puts more weight on. I am hoping that the Wellbutrin helps, without the weight gain. It is so puzzling why some people experience weight loss and others experience weight gain ....
