Hey Everyone, i know Serequel is used to treat Bipolar 1 and 2, but i would like to know if it can be used as a mood stabilizer on its own?
does there need to be something else added or is it a single mood stabilzer on its own and can be used on its own for treating bipolar type 1 and 2?
Im at 50mg at the moment but hopefully will increase in a week to 100mg

cheers

If you go on the seroquel official website, it is a mood stabilizer.
It treats bipolar and schizophrenia.
Go on the site to find more information.

Jayman,

My doc has me on it to help me sleep and possibly as a mild mood stablizer. I have gone for 50mgs to 400mgs in the course of a week. My highs seem to come out as week long panic attacks and have almost subsided now. I have another appointment in 2 weeks to see him again. It almost seems as he is treating one symtom at a time. Lack of sleep was a huge issue for me so who knows that might be why I was put on it and maybe another stronger mood stablizer will be added then. I am also on 75mgs of effexor and have lorazapam .5 x2 daily as needed and vallium 10 mgs x2 daily as needed but the last 2 days I haven't needed them. So far so good.

I think seriquol is helping me alot.
